In response to a reader's question whether Pattaya's sewage system still ends up in the sea, Thailand blog reader Theo responded with 2 photos.

He says this about it:

It's been unchanged for years, just nasty. See the pictures. It concerns the sewer pipe at the height of Chaiyapruck in Jomtien. A non-stop discharge of 24 hours a day. One photo was taken after a rain shower, the other just in dry season.

I hope this isn't seen as chat. To I wonder how this happens in Phuket. I know there are waste water plants, but do people also discharge at sea? My wife says at some places not to swim there, she thinks it's dirty. The water comes out clearer and I can't smell or see anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the photos, in the 15 years that I have lived here I have always refused to swim in Pattaya/Jomtien, I go to the Navy beach in Sattahip, crystal clear clean water, and few people during the week.

Just got back from a pair of Damen Jomtien.
On a certain part of the beach road you smell a strong sewage smell.
Don't swim in the sea either.
Ban am phur, is just after Jomtien, we are not mind.
Bang Saray is also polluted, Weird greenish large flakes, quickly ran out again.
Hat Sai Kaew (navy beach) is a small clean beach with clear water. Ideal for children. About 20 km from Jomtien

Perhaps this topic can be discussed in a separate topic for other seaside resorts. I myself am very curious how this is arranged in Hua Hin.

I noticed that the water in Hua Hin is clean ,
when the waves come from the right.
If they come from the left , the water looks dirty .
Fortunately, they usually come from the right.
There is also a canal with very dirty water
into the sea behind the old pier.

It's a real shame… how does that discharge affect the fauna and flora in the sea? The fish, the life, what would that mean? Of course you don't hear about this???? Apparently the government is not doing anything??
