Many businesses must remain closed under the restrictions of the lockdown in Pattaya / Jomtien, including barber shops. Someone on an English-language forum wondered if hairdressers are available to get around the ban on haircutting and shaving.

There were several reactions with mostly shadowy indications where a hair salon could still be found in and around Soi Buakhow. Especially if one is a regular customer there seems to be something to arrange. Someone said that he had made an appointment with his hairdresser by telephone and that he had crawled under the half-open roller shutter when he arrived at the shop.

I read that earlier this year there was also a ban in the Netherlands and that many home visits were made by hairdressers. I doubt whether that is also possible in Thailand, because for the low price that hairdressers charge here, it is hardly worth the effort and the costs.

I'm also due for a hairdresser's visit, I'm happy to still have a big bunch of hair on my head at my age. In my younger years I also had a long year, as was customary at the time, as can be seen in a photo from my student days. It's not as far as it was then, but if the restrictions last much longer, things will go in that direction. The shop in Pattaya Klang, where I've been getting my hair cut for over 10 years now, is also closed and I really don't intend to get my hair done in a surreptitious way anywhere else. Let it grow!

On Facebook, someone who had posted his photo was told the nice reproach that he walked around with the money from the hairdresser in his pocket. The "long-haired" replied that he was going to cultivate his long hair as a monument of this period. I thought it was a nice idea!

Yes, it's starting to grow in my neck myself, and I have to admit whether or not it's possible to visit the hairdresser, I'm a little scared.
By the way, as you can see in the photo, you didn't smoke cigars then.

Get a clipper and let your wife/girlfriend do the hair cutting.

Buy your own machine and let your Thai do it. My Thai does that very well and so does the children's, and after 3 times it goes very quickly and for free. I even cut all her hair too. I told her very beautiful, but she did not say beautiful,,, but others also said very beautiful,, and then she said: They bless that because they don't want to say that I did less well,555

My girlfriend, and I think Thai women in general, still go to the beauty salon to have their hair and nails done, in our case indeed under the half-open shutter. Just went with her once to get my hair cut, no problem.
