King Bhumibol Adulyadej in hospital for more than a year
Last Sunday, September 18, 2010, it was exactly one year ago that HRH King Bhumibol (82) was admitted to the hospital.
The longest reigning monarch in the world is very popular with the Thai people. Thousands of people come to the hospital every day to pray for the King and wish him well.
King Bhumibol is highly regarded for being a stable factor in the politically divided Thailand. The King has worked all his life for the well-being of his people.
Tourists and expats should realize that they too must show respect for the Royal Family. Criticism or insults of the Royal Family in Thailand carry very high penalties.
It is not entirely clear what the current state of his health is. According to the sparse reports, things are going reasonably well with the King. On December 5 2010 will be his 83rd birthday.

I don't think his health is doing very well. There are some rumors going around. But we can't talk about that so I won't 😉
