Indonesian food in Pattaya
One of the many attractions of Pattaya/Jomtien is the wide variety of dining options. Of course, as a visitor you should get to know the fine Thai cuisine, but there is also no shortage of many foreign restaurants. Name a country and it is very likely that there is a restaurant with specialties from that country in this seaside resort.
Unfortunately Indonesia was missing, my big favorite when it comes to food. More than six years ago we had the excellent Indonesian restaurant Bali Breeze in Jomtien, but that has already closed and we have to make do with a plate of nasi goreng in a Dutch restaurant.
Pieter Oosterom of Malee Guesthouse in Soi Langkee has now jumped into that “gap in the market”. He has hired an Indonesian cook from Bali and under the name Malee Bali there is now a menu book available with 60 Indonesian dishes. As a true enthusiast, I had to try it out of course.
Male Bali
The restaurant of Malee Guesthouse has a wide range of Thai and foreign dishes and now also a variety of Indonesian dishes. This possibility is not yet mentioned on the outside, but on the website and on the Facebook page, extensive attention is paid to the many dishes, especially from Bali.
Malee Bali is a decent restaurant, simple but nicely decorated. It is not really a place for a romantic candlelight dinner and the enchanting atmosphere that the background photo on the website exudes, you have to think about for yourself. It's about the delicious Indonesian food and if you enjoy it, you will soon find yourself in the Belt of Emerald.
Menu
As already mentioned, the Indonesian menu is very extensive, from a simple spring roll, various satays to a complete rice table. I ate there three times, the first time a fine Nasi Goreng Ramas, the second time a delicious Babi Pangang and the third time I went there with the whole Thai family to enjoy an extensive Indonesian buffet.
For the full menu and location, visit malee-bali.com and follow the offers on Facebook.
An Indonesian restaurant in Pattaya: another argument to love this city! For me it will be regular Selamat Makan now!
Can you tell me a little more exactly where it is located?
From Second Road at Mike's Shopping Mall, go through Soi Diana.
At Soi Buahow straight ahead is Soi Langkee.
Bali Breeze is then halfway with Steak & Co as a neighbor.
Great tip: they also have tempeh!
The old Bali Breeze has moved anyway…Pepper & Salt nowadays….I think they still have Indonesian cuisine….greetings Joop
That's right, Joop, Pepper & Salt still has some excellent Indonesian dishes, but it is a bit far from the area for many.
In addition, Malee Bali has a very extensive menu
Now located in Soi Khao Thalo, but only has Nasi Ramas on the menu. More Steak and Dutch Pot.
I am sure that Piet will make a success of it because his food was always good and tasty and I have that experience because I spent two holidays with Piet in Pattaya.
we are in soi LK next to australian steakhouse inside aircon outside terrace for smokers
Quite conveniently located and not unimportant for a food culture barbarian like me: They also have satay with peanut sauce!
That in itself is reason enough to give it a try.
To be honest, I am also a bigger fan of that Indo kitchen than the Thai kitchen. So I would definitely like to try it when visiting Pattaya.
Malee bali is located in soi lengkee, soi lengkee is located between soi buokhao and 3th road at the height of soi diana. Not to be confused with soi LK (metro). Both streets are named after Lengkee (developer of both streets) the owner of the famous Lengkee restaurant and the lk hotels. So Piet you are with Malee Bali in soi Lengkee. Greetings from lamp.
