Thailandblog is on vacation!
The time has come, the suitcase is packed and I leave for the 'Land of Smiles'. For all loyal visitors, therefore, a few household announcements:
- From 2 to 24 May the editorial office is up holiday. Hans Bos will be in the Netherlands for a few days from May 12 and will therefore be absent.
- During our absence, mainly “old” postings will be reposted. These are articles that are not subject to current events. So if you think "hey I know this story", that can be true 😉
- All comments will be moderated during the holidays. This means that it can take (much) longer before you see a response.
- I will occasionally check my e-mail but I can't answer everything, it takes too much time. So I will only answer really urgent matters.
Should there be readers of Thailandblog.nl who also leave for Bangkok tomorrow? My flight number is AB7150 (AirBerlin). Feel free to contact me.
See you in three weeks dear people, sawadee khap!
Didn't receive your itinerary. Have a nice holiday

Hi Peter,
Very nice, pleasant and safe journey and a very pleasant time in 'the land of smiles'.
The 'smile' that can really still be found, at least if you don't put salt on every snail as a 'farang' and try to appreciate and understand the Thai mentality and culture.
(Which is sometimes difficult).
Once again, have a great holiday Peter, may you be so lucky.
Regards, William Pattatya.
Have a good trip and a happy holiday
Hello Peter,
Have a nice holiday. Hua-Hin is my favorite resort in Thailand. I was wondering where that photo was taken. It seems to be somewhere by the sea. Do you know restaurant The Boat near the nightnarket diagonally opposite the bus stop where the buses from Bangkok arrive?
gr. Bart.
