Good news for those who stay in Thailand for a long time. One of the big annoyances, the 90-day notification, is getting a lot less annoying. From next Sunday, this can be done at every branch of the 7-Eleven. The obligation to provide your address every 90 days does not disappear, but you no longer have to go to an immigration office, with the long waiting times that usually go with it.

The procedure hardly differs from that at immigration. Download the TM47 form and complete the top section completely. Don't forget to bring a passport with a departure card, as well as copies thereof. Instead of the completed lower part of the TM47 form, at the 7-Eleven you will receive a printout from the cash register as proof, in the same way as with the electricity bill. Keep that in your passport, because such a printout will fade under the influence of light, which can cause problems at the next 90-day report.

You can only report to 7-Eleven in the first week of the period in which you are required to report, i.e. from 15 days to 8 days before the 90 days have expired. That's just how the online notification works, or rather, should work. If you are too late, you still have to go to immigration.

An early April 1 joke!!, if it's true, 7 Eleven is on my corner, saves me 160 km there and back, finally some good news!

  3. emel says up

    A big improvement but…….

What about the data you provide tw
    Copy passport

    • chris says up

No one can do anything with copies. The form can be downloaded from the website. And then save it to your computer so you only have to print it every 90 days.
Cost? It can never cost more at the 7Eleven than the costs I have to incur now (a courier or even a taxi), not counting the time aspect.

      • Eddy says up

        The Best
Can you also just pick up that TM_47 form at immigration?
        Then to 7/11?

A few more years and then only the 7-11 and other CP daughters will still exist in this country.

    • Dave says up

Earlier it was news that you can deposit money into your account via 7 11. Now this. People who work there don't have the qualifications at all. Another bubble but I think that CP is working on a general takeover of power.

  12. ThailandVisitor says up

And where can you download the TM47 Form?

Did anyone notice the date? Next Sunday (assume they mean next weekend)

  19. Alex says up

I assume that 7/11 will send/bring the copies and TM47 form to immigration. They must have a system for that.
And I don't care if it's free! The 7/11 is right outside my door, I don't have to queue at immigration…

  20. VMKW says up

  24. John Chiang Rai says up

Boy, would this be good news, if it didn't happen to be April 1st.

    • John Chiang Rai says up

People who don't visit 7Eleven this coming Sunday, because they really want to go to Immigration, will receive a free oil massage with a happy ending.
And then complain that a 90-day notification is so difficult.

      • Kevin says up

You are also not well informed on Sunday to immigration?

  25. Wim says up

Great news, just got to do my 90 days. So now on April 1 to 7Eleven. That saves a lot of time.

That saves me 250 km driving, better this

    g William

    • bullshit says up

      Ever heard of April 1st?

  39. eduard says up

I will also print 30 TM-47 forms for those who do not have a printer. Have to visit someone tonight at the bangkok-pattaya hospital on Sukumvit Road and put them on the counter there tonight. Make 30, but it's gone.

  40. marc965 says up

And then you just give your private data into the hands of unauthorized persons?
Have you ever thought about what can happen with copies of your passport and the like in the hands of unauthorized persons.
All of Thailand is poisoned with thoughtless and the most absurdly stupid rules.
    You do!
    Greets.

    • VMKW says up

Have you ever thought that it will be April 1 in a week???

    • Peter says up

You can and must!! Make your service number unrecognizable. You can do this, for example, on your PC with the copy ID of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
You can also do it yourself and clearly write 'copy' on the copy, possibly with the name of the addressee.

    • Jasper says up

The copies of passport and other data are also kept at immigration and reused, often for printing on the other side and otherwise for cutting notes. Lie naked in the immigration office.
Every villain can also misuse the data there, or give a stack to a friend.

I always provide copies of my passport with a note that this is exclusively for the use of so and so, with the date. Incidentally, the chance of abuse has been greatly reduced now that the BSN number is printed on a different page in the new passport.

      • Kevin says up

BSN number is NOW on the 1st and 2nd page at the bottom of your photo and personal details at the bottom between all numbers is also your BSN NUMBER.

  41. Rudolf says up

    April 1 joke?

  42. Thirifays Marc says up

Wasn't that around April 1 last year?

  43. emel says up

@Alex a beautiful assumption, but do realize that all information about you that is in the passport is voluntarily made available to you. This can sometimes break you up, think of identity fraud.

It would be better if they let it go through amphur

    • Alex says up

Yes, Emily, you are right. Then better go to immigration, I'm only 10 minutes away...

  44. ferry says up

Have you all looked at the date next SUNDAY EXACTLY APRIL 1st but feel free to stop by they will welcome you warmly.
    Succes

  45. Gersrd says up

    April 1st??

  46. Pumpkin says up

It's not necessary for me. I live 8 km from the immigration in Jomtien and whether I'm doing nothing there or somewhere else makes no difference to me.

  47. Kevin says up

I have NEVER had to bring copies to immigration for my 90 days so I have no idea where this came from.

    • Henk says up

What a reaction..... next Sunday is a special date.

    • ferry says up

Check what date it is Kevin next Sunday

      • Kevin says up

I already knew that Ferry I only responded to bringing copies because from the reactions here there are plenty of those who would go to the 7-11 with enough copies.

    • Ko says up

That's Kevin because immigration can check later than random checks. Every 7.11 must also scan the forms and copies and forward them to a central control point at the end of the day. They also take a picture of you with the receipt printout, this also for verification. At every 7.11, a number of employees have been trained for this and have become a kind of authorized official. It seems that they can be recognized by a name tag with the date of introduction!

    • janbeute says up

You must submit copies of the .
The first page of your passport.
The page where your retirement is extended to the date.
The page on which your last entry into Thailand is stamped.
      The departure card.
At least I have been doing it this way for years.

      Jan Beute.

      • Daniel VL says up

I have to do that in Chiang Mai too. Sometimes copies of all pages are requested and the copy shop is also allowed to earn something there.

      • peter says up

In Jomtien you only need to bring your passport. This is scanned and you get
proof for the next 90 days.
I am always out within 10 minutes.
You can even have someone else do it if you're sick or something
        works great there

      • Do says up

Sorry gentlemen, but here in Hua Hin at Immigration, all you have to do is show your passport. A completed TM-47 form is no longer required here. So I keep going to the Immigration office and after 5 minutes I'm outside again with a new 90-day piece of paper in my passport.

      • Kevin says up

Absolutely nothing in 15 years, never done with 90 days of reporting.

  48. Robert says up

Really super if this were to continue and another super
idea that the precues would go into effect on April 1

      Hello Edward
sorry but how is that vua internet
hopefully that's something for us too
      Thank you
      Robert

      • Edward says up

I'd like to, but I'd rather hand over the pen to one of the editors here, or one of the specialists on this blog, to avoid misunderstandings, that seems better to me.

        Gr. Edward.

        • Edward says up

          Correction, I think that's better.

  57. Fred Jansen says up

I think this goes into effect April 1st. Wonderful joke!!!!!!

  64. Fon says up

Helloooooo…. ever heard of an april fools joke? This js very good! Many have fallen for it. Cheers!

  65. Bz says up

    Hallo,

The 90-day notification can also be made via the Internet http://www.immigration.go.th although it didn't work for me last week and I still went to Immigration in Soi 5 in Jomtien where luckily it was my turn almost immediately. By the way, my previous 90-day notification was successful via the Internet.

    Best regards. Bz

  66. Hein says up

    April 1st?

  67. The Inquisitor says up

    1e) what copy's for 90 days ??
2e) have you ever looked at the ticket of an Atm after a few days? Became illegible.
3e) what about our reputed sense of privacy?

No, thank you. For me it remains a 3-month trip.
90 km drive: Immigration, Home Pro, Makro and Robinsons where I go for a nice meal.

    • Peter says up

That's how I think about it, nice trip on his time 555.

    • lung addie says up

Just the same for me, a trip of 45 km, straight to Makro and the other major shops if necessary. Good contact with a pleasant chat with the immigration officer… I've never had a problem with that. In fact, look forward to reporting the 90 days. Always make it a pleasant pleasant day.

  68. Nicole says up

Next Sunday it's April 1st folks.

  73. hansman says up

    Coming Sunday....then it's APRIL 1st!!! (I say nothing)

  74. Khan Martin says up

    Inquisitor next Sunday.

  75. janbeute says up

I just don't understand why they are now outsourcing this to the 7 eleven group again.
In the past there was something like that, if you got into trouble somewhere in Thailand you could ask for help from the 7/11.
And they had to pass it on or report it to the tourist police
    Didn't work well.
Usually when you walk into a 7/11, no one understands a word of English.
I doubt this will be a success.
A better solution would have been to report your 90 days to the police station in your immediate vicinity.
Since the local officers often recognize the farangs in their area.
And if anything goes wrong at all with the report to the 7/11, you will have a lot of nagging later on when you extend your retirement.
And then I wonder one more thing , what about the location of the report .
Previously, I always had to report for the 90 days at my own immigration.
Can this now be done in the entire country, so it no longer matters where and in which 7/11 I enter, anywhere in Thailand.

    Jan Beute.

    • TH.NL says up

I understand your comments Jan Beute. However, the objection that people in the 7Eleven speak almost no English does not matter to me. Apart from the amount you have to pay, they say nothing. Not even against the Thai.
Police station doesn't seem like anything to me either because you will soon get another counter there where you will be helped faster for an extra payment.
I've read that you have to be at a 7Eleven in your own hometown.

  76. Lunghan says up

I don't believe it, have yet to see it.
The girls (and others) at our seven's know nothing about this.

  77. Pascal Chiangmai says up

Dear readers, next Sunday it will be APRIL 1, nice job editors,
    kind regards, Pascal Chiangmai

  78. Phuket Scooter Rentals says up

5555555 and early April 1 joke

  79. William Kalasin says up

I see this as a joke that often happens when people want something and then go for it with their eyes open. Will take the long way to Sakhon Nakon again for a 90 day stamp.

From next Sunday, isn't it coincidentally April 1??

  92. Fred says up

    It's Sunday! April…..Wake up

  93. Gerard says up

If I understand correctly, there will be an extra counter (7/11) or one or more of the other options will expire, such as via the internet or the immigration visit itself or by post (no earlier than 7 days before the end of the 90-day period).
    I use the last option,
send a copy of your personal data sheet from your passport,
copy of your current 90-day strip
copy of your departure card and
copy of your retirement visa from your passport
plus a stamped return envelope with your own address on it.
Send all this to your own Immigration office (in my case Imm Chiangmai)
It seems to me that the Immigration office now also wants to cancel by mail, but I have not read or heard anything about this.

    • Gerard says up

Oh yes, all copies must be signed by me (you).

  94. Rinse, Face Wash says up

I'm laughing my ass off that people are falling for this. Do not hope that people will indeed stand on the sidewalk at 7/11 for something that is not explained there. What was the effective date again?

    Too good to be true,

I just have to cover 170 km there and back.
Now I had explained my problem to immi years ago and asked can you not send it for a while.
No problem, 1500 bathjes falang, and everything is neatly put in the mailbox.

And I have to say, they're very friendly people there, are you okay, okay.
for my extension, I bundle everything neatly together, they look at it briefly and that's it.

The only thing they look at with a little bit of attention is the passbook.
I always have to go to chaiyaphum.

  114. Dirk VanLint says up
