Perhaps important as information for you regarding Non immigrant O visa for 90 days. It has been very difficult and impossible for us to obtain a statement from ONVZ stating the amounts required. Arranging the insurance statement yourself with the amounts desired by the Thai embassy is difficult and expensive. My travel companion eventually received an approved Thai insurance statement via Traveldocs for € 350.

I myself also requested such a statement from my ASR travel insurance and explained the problem of the necessary mention of those specific amounts, even though your insurance is much more generous than required. Have forwarded the embassy requirements to ASR.

Treated very understandingly and they discussed it internally. After a few days I received the amended insurance statement. So I received this statement free of charge from ASR for the amount of my normal, comprehensive travel insurance.

This is what I call service as you would like to be treated! So not… can't…. we don't… not allowed etc etc. but just see what is the problem and find a solution for it.

As you can understand, my travel companion will soon switch to ASR for a next time!

Tip for others with the same problem.

In itself neatly solved by ASR. By the way, you do not need an insurance statement if you want to stay in Thailand for 90 days or more. Ronny and I have already explained this a few times: https://www.thailandblog.nl/dossier/visum-thailand/immigratie-infobrief/tb-immigration-info-brief-056-22-voor-langere-tijd-naar-thailand-zonder-een-ziektekostenverzekering-en-of-verzekeringsverklaring-hoe-doe-je-dat/

Dear Loes! Nice story, nice of asr (because they can cancel a policy again)), but why do you accept the extra costs if you have already insured and paid premium for abroad through your health insurance?

    The Best
with a non-immigrant -O – retired we DO need a statement stating out- and inpatient etc.

I asked this to our Solidaris health insurance fund and emailed refusal of their first statement (that we are insured for everything for USD 100.000 – so more than they ask) from the Thai Embassy and they then neatly gave us an amended statement.

    So it is indeed possible.

It is quite bizarre, indeed they do not accept statements that you are insured for everything (medical costs after accident, hospital treatments, Covid included and so on for at least 100 thousand USD). It must and will have to state those in- and outpatients, stating those amounts… you would think that every crazy person understands that “all costs / everything for at least USD” therefore logically also covers in/out… but it really has to be all literally being chewed up three times over. Not exactly conducive to issuing non-) 90-day visas, but the embassy doesn't really care about that. Instructions from above are sacred, even though the officials could report to Bangkok that Dutch care + medical travel insurance provides sufficient coverage even without such a triple statement..

Good for Loes and others that some insurers in the Netherlands are flexible and want to pre-chew such a strange statement.

I had the same problem, no matter what I sent to the embassy, I didn't get a visa if the 2 rules in question weren't mentioned. my health insurer could explain why they did not want to mention it, but that had no effect, so I had to take out extra insurance for 3 months at 247 euros per month with OOM insurance that did have it in it and a visa within 2 days. it has to do with costs for GP and dentist if I understand correctly. Anyway, I'm in Thailand now :)))

    regards Ben

We did not manage to get this statement from the insurance company, so we now have a visa for 2 months and extend it for a month in Thailand. You do not need this statement for 2 months….

    Dear All!
STATEMENT OF INSURANCE: As I am currently bound by an agreement with authorities, I cannot comment much on the current state of affairs. But rest assured that the issue is certainly still alive and under consideration by authorities. And if it doesn't work clockwise, I'll try counterclockwise again, because it's too bizarre that all NL residents are legally obliged to take out health insurance (so no travel insurance, which is still mixed up here), which also provides healthcare in Thailand. covers. But apparently this is still not getting through to Thai immigration, nor to Dutch health insurers, who do not wish to cooperate with the required statement of insurance.

    Good morning Les,

I just contacted ASR in response to your story. Apparently it has not yet been communicated internally within the travel insurance department, because we do not receive such a statement. Do you have a contact person within ASR that I can approach or can I contact you in another way?
    Many thanks in advance.
