Reporter: Andre

Just mention how the online application worked again. On 15/05/21 my 90 days to stay in the “Kingdom” expired. So today on 06/05/21 at 22.10 pm I went to make my online report. Always 8 days or more before the current due date I have been doing this online since April 2019.

Since I had heard that the website would have been down, I was curious.

So I go to the Jomtien Immigration website. I click on online services and then on the 90-day notice. I accept the terms and conditions and come to the two familiar screens where you have to fill in some things. Since I have been doing this for some time, all data is already filled in when I click in the box where something should be placed; i just need to confirm. I only have to adjust in the box where you have to state the expiration date of your current 90 days. We are now 3 minutes away and I click again on accept the terms and enter to end. Usually I get an email in my mailbox that I have submitted my application. 1, sometimes 2 days later I receive the email that it is “approved” and I can print on the website.

But not this time. After accepting, I already received a box stating that the request was already “approved” and that I had to go to my status immediately to print. So I confirm to exit, go to status 90-day notification and sure enough. I was able to print immediately. Since people always ask for the reference number, I had of course saved my request so that I could copy/paste my number immediately.

So my 90-day report took me 5 minutes behind the desk, 1 sheet of paper and a mosquito piss ink.

Sometimes it can be very simple in Thailand too!!

It is even easier to walk to the emigration. Ask for a number there, wait a few minutes, hand over your passport and you're done. Do not enter or type anything and print.

This does not make sense. Not everyone lives within walking distance of immigration. I have to drive an hour for this. So walking to immigration for a while is NOT always easier. Just give me the online notification.

And as an aside: in the current Corona times it is wise to have as little contact as possible outside your family circle.

That is the Jomtien immigration office you are talking about.
In Bangkok the situation is different. I started the online 90 day extension well before my expiration date. Couldn't get past the first page though. The site did not work and I tried at least 12 times every day about 3 days before the expiry date, but it did not work.
So today I was forced to go to Muang Thong Thani immigration office, out the door at 9 o'clock this morning and back at my home address at 16.30 pm, been busy all day!
So there is definitely something wrong with the online option!

I need to extend 90 days for the first time this month. I have to drive a total of 3 hours for it, I'm just on the road for a day. I'll see if that works for me too. I have to extend in Roi et. Would be ideal

Hi Koge, do you know that the immigration office will soon move to another location there (environment) where driving exams are held.
      Greetings from Roi et

The 90-day notice is never an extension. Does not give you any right of residence.
It is only a confirmation of address

      Dear,

Know that the first 90-day notification never goes online !! You can only do that online from the second!!

This morning we drove to CR immigration in Chiang Rai (10 minutes), put the passport in the appropriate box and sent the IO. Return after 5 minutes.
