The jackpot

The ultimate happiness really smiles at me and until now I was very satisfied. Live in a wonderful place in the Netherlands, feel comfortable in my own skin and travel the globe with a lot of energy.

During the winter months I flee the Netherlands at the beginning of January, only to return when the spring sun arrives in April. September is normally the month to say goodbye to summer. So get a little stuffy and leave the motherland for a month with watery eyes, sobbing. This time I shed tears in Cambodia and now that the month has come to an end I spend a few more days in Pattaya before returning home to relax there.

Today I take a long walk on Soi Buakhao with the ultimate goal of Tukcom, the well-known computer and telephone department store. Almost at the end of the street, I walked over the covered market where a lot of, mainly second-hand, stuff is for sale for very low prices. But suddenly the pressure on my bladder increases and I quickly step into a simple place to relieve myself and order a drink.

At the entrance a lady is sitting behind a small table on which all sorts of mysterious things are placed and against the wall is what I feel is a strange poster with Thai text. Have the impression that the lady in question has the gift of looking into the future. Still, I start to have doubts when a young girl sits down on a chair with her back to her and the lady – as I watch from a distance – scratches something on her back with a sharp object. If you want to know the details of that, go talk to her.

She only knows the Thai language and from what I understand she is scratching out a plea to higher realms towards Buddha. But I could be wrong.

She is a friendly lady and she also wants to predict the future for me. She picks up a kind of card game with strange images from which I have to pull out a copy. And …. yes, luck is going to smile at me, that's what I'm told. Confide in her that I am already very happy and that more happiness is not normally possible. No problem; draw another card I get to understand. And yes: very soon a sweet charming woman will come into my life who misses me very much now. I'm pretty sober by nature but the amazement really strikes now and even get heart palpitations. How on earth is that possible, the lady is absolutely right, because the day after tomorrow I will fly home and my girlfriend, who is more than two years younger, is lovingly ready to embrace me in her arms.
