New Year's Eve celebration in Pattaya
During one of the last meetings, the Pattaya Business & Tourism Association gave the green light for a modified New Year's Eve celebration in Pattaya. However, Lord Naris, district chief of Banglamung told the press that representatives of the major entertainment industry should take the king's death into account in their planned activities.
However, the district chief admitted to being in a kind of split. On the one hand because of the sober end of the year celebration, on the other hand the expectations of the tourists who came here to make their appearance and want to celebrate a holiday.
Due to the sharp decline in Chinese visitor numbers (the end of the "Zero dollars Tours") and also disappointing numbers of tourists from other countries, the place Pattaya must remain attractive through activities. Yuthasak wants to convince the Chinese to continue visiting Thailand with its many possibilities. The Chinese government will be approached and extra advertising will be made in Guangzhou to visit Thailand.
What next in Pattaya? Concrete information about the various events that made Pattaya so attractive as a location in the past was not included in the presentation. What will be celebrated in the Bali Hai pier area? Will there still be the traditional fireworks, will there be live music again at the Central Festival?
There was no answer to these and several questions. Not very stimulating for the tourism industry.
Will the Government also add that tourists have to pay double for the “baht bus” and up to ten times for visiting certain National Parks or others?….
Nice and double because many tourists from the so-called other countries no longer come to Pattaya, partly due to the high number of Chinese and other inhabitants from the BRIC countries.
