Cambodians are fleeing Thailand in large numbers
In the past week, 60.000 Cambodians have returned to their country. They fled for fear of being arrested. Rumors are circulating that the army is planning a massive raid.
Curfew expires nationwide; tablet PC program deleted
The military authority doesn't let any grass grow over it. The curfew, already lifted in 25 tourist areas, will expire and in September the military authority will hand over the country's administration to an interim government. It is also over and out for the tablet PC, which all primary and secondary school pupils would receive.
Cloth falls on controversial rice mortgage system
The costly and corruption-ridden rice mortgage system will not be continued. It will be replaced by a program that directly benefits farmers. The military authorities are calling for a reduction in production costs, the use of organic fertilizers and the formation of cooperatives.
Coup should not be called a coup
The coup is not a coup, but an army action. And the people who have been imprisoned have not been imprisoned, but invited for an interview. The PR machine of the military authority is running at full speed.

Junta suspends water management plans
The planned very expensive construction of four high-speed lines will most likely be put on hold. The military authority will make a decision on this this week. The equally controversial hydraulic works worth 350 billion baht have already been suspended.
Curfew lifted in three more areas
Good news for walkers on the islands of Koh Chang and Koh Phangan and in Hat Yai. The curfew no longer applies since Sunday evening.

Junta strengthens trade ties with China
Thailand will have an interim government within three months and investors and tourists will always be welcome. With that message, junta leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha yesterday tried to reassure a delegation of Chinese businessmen and bankers.
The Thai army lifted curfews for more parts of the country on Saturday. These include four popular tourist destinations: Krabi, Phang Nga, Hua Hin and Cha-Am.
