For elephants you have to go to Surin in Isaan on November 20 and 21 for the annual 'Elephant Roundup'. From far and wide, the mahouts travel to Surin with their pachyderms, often more than 300 pieces. On a soccer field, the beasts show what they were capable of, such as waging war. But also dragging tree trunks and a game of elephant football.
