The museum is known as paraffin pressure lamp museum. That nickname is also obvious, because there are 13.001 of those lamps hanging from the ceiling. Like many (regional) museums in the Netherlands, the Yusuksuwan museum in Prachin Buri started with a private collection.

On May 15, a very nice museum will close its doors. The museum objects, hundreds of miniatures on a scale of 1:12, are packed and moved from a corner in the lobby of the Grand China Princess hotel in Chinatown to the second home of 'museum director' Piyanuch Narkkong in Chiang Mai, or returned to the other makers. And who knows, maybe there will be a reboot in that city one day.

It was significantly quieter when I visited Chang Erawan Museum in Samut Prakan yesterday. Once you could walk around for free, but now a farang pays the main price: 300 baht. This museum is also pricing itself out of the market.
