New: The KAAN SHOW in Pattaya
As if there aren't enough shows to admire in Pattaya already, another show will be added. A friend of mine in the Netherlands informed me that he had received an invitation to the Grand Opening of the KAAN SHOW, a “spectacular live cinema experience” on May 20th.
The KAAN SHOW
Any comparison to existing shows in Pattaya is flawed, it's something completely different. From the roaring text of the website I understand that this is something completely new for Thailand, namely “A new hybrid of live action on stage, combined with world-class animation technology and a state-of-the-art audiovisual system A 90-minute show, featuring up to 90 artists and actors, transports you to a fantasy world inspired by Thai literature, including Ramayana, Pra Apai Mani, Krai Thong and many more.
Singha d'Luck Cinematic Theatre
The show is staged in this theatre, which is brand new and with no expense spared, built on a large piece of land on Thepprasit Road I have walked past it under construction and now that the Grand Opening is imminent I go take a look. One must expect a great success, because the whole, the theater, the outbuildings with restaurant and the parking spaces must have cost a lot of money. In general, the buildings are ready, the furnishing has started, but the surrounding infrastructure is anything but ready. I wonder if they'll be able to get it all ready for the Grand Opening.
The web sites
There is a Facebook page and a website: www.kaanshow.com of the show, but all in Thai language. I found more information at this link: www.hotels2thailand.com/
There you will find information about the show, how to book and what prices and much more. To be fair, I have to say that the information flow on this link seems rather messy and leaves a lot of room for questions.
My advice
I don't know yet if I want to recommend this show. All beginnings are difficult, I would say, but I advise you to nurture any interest for a while. Let the show and the organization around it develop, wait for the reviews and then decide whether to go or not.
Trailer
See the official trailer for the show below:

There is a company behind it called 'Singha Corporation', which creates some confidence.
Watching the trailer makes me think of the Cirque du Soleil, although I don't expect them to reach that level, and technology seems to play a more important role here.
I think Gringo's advice is typically Dutch: Very conservative, first wait and see how it develops, read reviews beforehand, and then make a well-considered decision…
A whole process like this already makes me seriously depressed in advance, my advice would be: If it sounds like something to you, book those tickets right away and let your heart beat full of expectation. 🙂
TiT so Gringo is very right why pay big money and think later ; I should have just thrown that away, yes I must have thought Dutch, well nothing wrong with that!
Is Fransamsterdam correct. Have a nice day with friends, family and neighbours, who's stopping you??
Fear is the only thing stopping you from invading your wallet right away with the whole family.
A show of 90 minutes for only 2500 Baht or almost 66 Euro .what are you talking about??
Think it is super busy with the Thai people to pay a weekly wage for 90 minutes there.
I wonder how long something like this will last.

Gee… that must be a storm with those ticket prices.
The price is for foreign tourist only, they write.
Better send your Thai girlfriend / wife for tickets I think.
