The Pattaya police have been using so-called laser guns for some time now. A hand-held gun-shaped device used to measure vehicle speeds. It could be seen in use in the vicinity of the Traffic office in Banglamung.

In Najomtien in the sub-district of Sattahip, people want to use this intensively to check, because in the past two years there have been 100 road deaths. The low point was a tragic accident on November 18 with a baht van, which crashed into a tree. Five passengers died and nine others were seriously injured.

The checks with the laser guns took place at the tropical garden of Nong Nooch on Sukhumvit Road. In an hour's time, 37 motorists were reported for speeding and many motorcyclists for driving without a helmet or for not being able to show a driver's license.

When Thailand was given the dubious honor of having the deadliest roads in the world last month, police said they would step up speed limit enforcement to reduce road accidents.

And now let's start with placing signs that indicate the permitted speed.
It is now a bit of Russian roulette, because nobody knows how fast you can drive.
I think the police will also “laser” other ways.

Sukhumvit at the height of Pattaya is 80 km / h, but after that you can go faster??
i wouldn't know (familiar said with red cheeks)

    Well,

Thailand has finally rid itself of that damned second place and is now first. (most road deaths)
You just have to want it.

Excessive speed is also a problem. In addition, lack of insight / looking ahead and misbehavior at, for example, traffic lights.
    Orange: accelerate
    Red: a challenge.

Better driving training and stricter enforcement of traffic rules (read: high fines; so rather TBH 1.000 than TBH 200-300).

It's about time they did a good speed check on the mopeds, beach road, secend route, also the many moterbike taxis that behave like coboys, the speed, wrong direction, driving on the footpath, driving through the red light, but yes through the red, they almost all drive on the footpath. If the police do not act, these moterbike gangsters also leave many of their customers without helmets, the police looked at it, blah, blah nothing else. or you get a calimero helmet, they have a more sturdy one.
