Bank run of 30 billion baht; loan hastily withdrawn
The record amount of 30 billion baht was withdrawn by depositors from the Government Savings Bank on Monday. Savers are dissatisfied with the interbank loan to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC). The bank hastily decided to suspend further loans to the BAAC.
