Thailand could be hit by a devastating earthquake by the end of this year, says disaster expert Smith Dharmasaroja. He bases his prediction on a message from engineer Kongpop U-yen, who works at NASA. Kongpop warns of a solar storm, which could have a direct effect on the Earth's magnetic field and could trigger an earthquake in the Indian Ocean. The message reached Smith a day before Wednesday's earthquake.
