THAI Airways International will not operate international flights again until next year. The Thai national airline informs its travel agents about this.

The main reason for this is the international travel restrictions due to the corona pandemic.

In the update to travel agents, THAI reports that the scheduled service Brussels - Bangkok will be suspended during the month of December, as well as all other international flights, both to Europe and within Asia.

The last normal flight to Europe, including Brussels, took place on April 1. Since then, the airline had to postpone the date of resuming flights several times. THAI still flies to Europe, but only for repatriation flights.

Subsidiary Thai Smile does operate domestic flights, but many flights were canceled in the November-March period.

THAI is also in a debt restructuring process, after many years of loss-making numbers and a huge debt burden.

I estimate that Thai Airways will go bankrupt.

I would not book a flight with Thai Airways. The chance of bankruptcy is considerable and then you can basically whistle for your money.
Became wise through trial and error: If you book a single ticket, book directly with the airline, because the travel organizations usually do nothing at all and are often virtually unreachable in case of emergency, such as now with Corona and ....... pay with your credit card !
If the airline goes bankrupt or the selling party fails to fulfill its obligations, you can usually get your money back through your credit card company (provided it is delivered on time and with proof).

In the meantime, we have already had two canceled trips. We booked with Qatar Airways. Received the full amount back the first time (waiting time 2 months) and requested a voucher the second time and received the voucher the next day. The latter was requested on my own initiative as the flight is still officially scheduled.
Only a positive experience at the moment.
Too bad we still can't leave.

Good Thai idea, that postponement of flight movements.
Ennnnnn, The Thai are not losing face
