Qatar Airways has been named the World's Best Airline 2017 at SkyTrax's World Airline Awards. Singapore Airlines is number two, followed by All Nippon Airways.

The presentation of the prestigious award took place on Tuesday during the Paris Air Show 2017. SkyTrax annually conducts extensive research into the quality of 325 airlines. This year, nearly 105 million survey forms were completed by travelers from XNUMX countries.

Qatar Airways won by a large majority. The airline also won the World's Best Business Class, Best First Class Lounge and Best Airline in the Middle East awards.

Last year Emirates won, but this year the airline from Dubai came fourth. KLM can be found in 22nd place, two places higher than last year. THAI Airways International recorded an excellent eleventh position.

Awards were also presented in numerous other categories, such as 'World's Best Cabin Staff' where THAI Airways came fourth. For the title of 'World's Best Inflight Entertainment', THAI Airways finished in tenth place. According to Skytrax, THAI Airways has the best Economy Class in the world and that is a great price.

Recently made a flight with KLM from Amsterdam to Bangkok, one of the reasons they are in place 22 is the arrogant attitude of the staff, who think they are a bit more than the travelers.
The captain announced whether the guests in the economy class department wanted to close their luggage hatches themselves, I couldn't believe my ears.
Next time again with Eva air…

The EVA flight attendants in economy class are not always attentive either, otherwise they like to chat in the pantry. Not that it bothers me, but I've noticed it several times.

Sir……..I am still very happy when I am helped or served by the extremely friendly EVA girls.
It's the reason I've been flying with EVA as often as possible for 12 years.
Every now and then another me comes. just because it happens to be no other way.
        But for me……….I prefer EVA……..

Let the girls relax in their own way every now and then.
After all, it's a long flight to BKK.

        Greetings and Sawasdee……..

My last experience with EVA, on the return flight last May, I was unable to log in to the plane's WiFi network. A flight attendant sees me trying and asks if she can help. I like to say, but I thought, you can't do that either because I'm really not a novice with the internet. She will be connected within a minute. Later she asks for my Star Alliance number. I thought what do you need that for, but anyway. A week later I receive a phone call from Taiwan, is it true that I had no WiFi? Result of the conversation, 5000 points on my account at EVA. Thank you EVA.

I have flown with Qatar once and it was indeed very well organised. However, this price at this time comes with the necessary caveats. There are several websites and social media pages that call for a boycott of this society, for example https://www.boycottqatarairways.com/the-project and recently had to go to various lengths for (intermediate) landings in the home port due to airspace ban over Saudi Arabia.

Right place, although I think Emirates is just a bit better, but of course that is personal.

Also flew with KLM business class to BKK and that was a disappointment. But to speak of an arrogant attitude of the staff as Willy pointed out, no definitely not. By the way, it is only logical that you close the luggage hatch above your head yourself and not the staff. They see to it that everything is securely closed.

I haven't been going with this ROYAL Aviation Company for about 20 years.
Together with British Airways the number 1 and 2 of the most arrogant airlines with the worst service.
Place 22 is even high for this club of non valeurs.

      Joe,

How can you rate KLM if it has been twenty years since you last flew with them?

      • Joop says up

By flying with it a lot and putting an end to it once.
Place 22 confirms that it still hasn't gotten any better.

Often flown with KLM in recent years and recently with BA with friendly service-oriented stewardesses, can't say anything else.

We will experience it on December 24 when we fly to BKK, I am very curious!

When I read the comments here. Is flying with Qatar an excellent choice? I fly with this best airline
in August for the friends price of a total of 439 euros from Istanbul via Doha to Manila and back.
The price alone is worth a nomination.

    Greetings Anthony

with KLM from BKK to Amsterdam
2 suitcases with 1,5 and 2 kg overweight
    fine $200
the 1,5 at the 2 kg over packed
    and got away with $100
    no more KLM for me…….

Qatar is certainly very good especially at take-offs and landings. Eva -air may come second to mj, always good service and perfect flights.
