Home » Flight tickets » KLM will fly from Bangkok to Amsterdam four times a week until July 2
KLM still flies from Bangkok to Amsterdam. This happens 4 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The plane departs Bangkok at 22.30:05.25 PM and arrives in Amsterdam at XNUMX:XNUMX AM.
Our blue hearts beat for you is at the top of the advertisement. My story about KLM: our return flight BKK - AMS that was scheduled for April 3 was canceled by KLM. Fortunately, we were able to return home 2 days later with a scheduled flight, but to make that possible we had to transfer € 1134,30. Despite 2 letters to customer service, I have been waiting for the refund for almost 2 months.
Pressure with corona is then the argument. My heart beats too.
Do you now have a written commitment that you will receive the € 1.134,30? In that case indeed patience but then it will certainly be fine and I wouldn't worry too much.
Victor, No, I didn't receive that one either. The only response (by email) to my letter was that they were too busy to process my letter due to “technical implementation for expanding Covis-19 policy”. Strange if you have already provided all information about the flights and payment. And if you have any questions for Customer Care, you can fill in a form entitled “Suivre votre dossier”, but in French. Our National pride at its best.
Hello Josef,
Were the original tickets perhaps booked through a tour operator?
Carl, indeed, but I had a paid KLM return ticket and paid the extra not insignificant amount to KLM. In my opinion an illegally requested payment. Can imagine that this may have been necessary given the administrative 'haste', but that I have not received anything back after 2 months is downright scandalous and not worthy of KLM. The excuse: “because of technical implementation for expansion Covis-19 policy”. What an excuse! My heart beats again!
My son and his girlfriend had booked a trip to the Netherlands with my money through a tourist office on May 13th. That didn't happen. Today I got almost the entire amount back.
OK, is it already known when we can fly to Thailand again??
Had planned June, but I don't think that will work ???
Texted some people there but no one seems to know anything??
Peter
Indeed, Peter, we have been looking for that for a while.
But it's anything but clear!
Evert
Read http://www.bangkokpost.com, There you will find that commercial flights (with passengers) do not enter Thailand.
Until the end of June airport in BKK closed for commercial INCOMING flights.
It will probably be possible to book again with KLM and EVA Air from the beginning of July, but I think a lot also depends on the situation at Suvarnabhumi. For the time being, the airport is only open until the end of June for incoming Thai returnees, who will then have to be quarantined for 14 days after arrival.
That quarantine requirement may expire at the beginning of July or it may otherwise be possible to avoid it with a medical statement from the Netherlands of a maximum of a few days old that you are Corona-free.
So it's just a matter of waiting and checking here and there. If, as currently expected, Suvarnabhumi reopens to foreign tourists at the beginning of July, it might be best to book late in July or early August if there are some experiences here on Thailandblog from Dutch people who have gone to BKK. I myself am now in Thailand because my return flight of May 30 with EVA Air was cancelled. I have now requested a return flight on 4th July but it has not yet been confirmed.
My Eva air return flight has been moved from June 18 to June 20 and last week to July 2. The latter sounds plausible.
Flights from BKK to AMS can continue as usual, but it depends on the airline whether and, if so, which passengers they take.
Nothing is going to BKK for the time being. Unfortunately, this blog gives the impression that it will be possible again after July 1, but that is not entirely correct and in some cases not correct at all!! People with a work permit can return first. The rest not yet. In the second instance, people with a visa can go back and (hopefully, but speculation) people with a demonstrable partner in Thailand (perhaps prove with a marriage certificate). Only later, and then we are talking about September, will tourists be able to enter the country again. It should be noted that the Netherlands is still a "high-risk country" and your chances are therefore smaller. We don't even get into Denmark!
In short, please do not conclude that you can "just" return to Thailand! Be very well informed about your chances and do not rely on this blog, because the information here is too brief and then also too general!!
Here https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/1925768/complete-end-to-lockdown-on-july-1 I read that Thailand will reopen in July, also for international travel…
The government has set July 1 for the lifting of all business and activity lockdowns ordered earlier to cope with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), said the National Security Council chief.
These include interprovincial and international travel, as well as the end of emergency decree and curfew.
Of course the question is: which “international travel”? Maybe only between neighboring countries? Maybe only the Chinese enter first (with a doctor's note)?
There's something I do not understand.
When will it be clear to you for once.
NOTHING is certain yet. First the lockdown was supposed to end on June 1, but suddenly it was extended to July 1.
Then we are only talking about domestic affairs.
Do you really believe that you will be able to enter Thailand on July 1 and enjoy a holiday.
Wake up.
No one, but no one can give you any certainty about that.
So it might be wise to wait and see what will come.
We are dealing with a completely new standard of living.
No one wants that, but it sure looks like it.
Get used to it.
Thinking about doom won't do you any good. The heavily affected countries Italy, France and Spain already indicate that the borders will soon open to foreigners and tourists because the situation has already improved considerably, as do Greece and Portugal and more countries. Germany already allows foreigners from 31 countries, although no tourists, Scandinavian countries open their borders to each other, etc. etc. Read the piece in the Bangkok Post and it clearly states that international travel to Thailand will be allowed again as of July 01. Own interpretations and “ifs” and “but” and “maybe” are of no use to you, limit yourself to the official announcements.
It might change so much. Originally I went back to Belgium in April (cancelled), then in July (cancelled again) and now I hope for September but I don't think it will be possible this year (after all, I want to return to Thailand after my stay in Belgium before my extension expires in December).
Read this link about foreigners who want to come to Thailand 25/5). I think I will stay calm in Thailand until the situation is more clear.
https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2020/05/25/new-normal-access-to-thailand-even-after-flights-resume-if-virus-persists/
Of course, the Thai also look abroad, ie Europe. If the Covid-19 patients in the ICUs continue to decrease there, I expect Thailand to become more flexible again.
