KLM in Top 3 most punctual airlines in the world
In 2016, KLM flew the most punctual flights of all airlines in Europe. Worldwide, KLM ranks third in terms of punctuality. This is evident from OAG's Punctuality Report 2016.
For this conclusion, the data of 54 million flights have been analyzed. KLM had an on-time performance of 2016 percent in 87,89. More than 87 percent of all KLM flights departed within fifteen minutes of the scheduled time and also arrived on time. The Panamanian Copa Airlines (2) and Hawaiian Airlines (1) did even better than KLM in 2016. When establishing the list, OAG also looked at flight cancellations.
The top ten most punctual airlines also include well-known airlines such as Qantas (4), Japan Airlines (5), Iberia (8) and Singapore Airlines (10).
OAG also compared airport punctuality. In the category of airports with more than twenty million passengers per year, Tokyo Haneda came out on top, followed by Sao Paulo Guarulhos, Detroit and Atlanta. With an OTP of almost 80 percent, Schiphol can be found in twentieth place. In Europe, only Madrid, Frankfurt and Munich did better.

Nice all those positive messages about KLM. Especially since we will soon be flying to Bangkok with KLM. Those Taiwanese companies are giving up a bit. But you could take 30 kg of luggage to Thailand with those Chinese. Was a plus anyway. Especially with a Thai woman who makes half a move out of a holiday. It seems that there is nothing to buy in Bangkok
For 80 euros in online entry, you allow yourself to take an extra luggage suitcase with KLM, ie 23 kilos extra.
With EVA AIR, economy class 30 kg.. you can divide over 2 or 3 or 4 suitcases and then another 7 kg hand luggage.
Why pay another 20 or 30 euros at KLM because you don't have a silver, gold or platinum Blue card.
Is it 40 or 60 euros extra to pay. So for 543 Euro plus 40 or 60 Euro, EVA AIR seems “more affordable” to me.
Hand luggage KLM 12 kilos…..
Well well, first in the top 5 of safest airlines and now in the top 3 of punctual airlines! I am now very curious where they place themselves in the top of airlines that consider customer friendliness and service to be of paramount importance.
I'm a bit afraid that it won't be that spectacular, I've had a number of very negative experiences with KLM myself and read many times on this blog about other people's experiences in this area.
