The Department of Airports, the manager of regional airports in Thailand, has allocated six million baht for a feasibility study into the construction of an airport in Phatthalung.

The study focuses on various aspects such as environment, transport network, availability of utilities and economic viability, said Secretary of State for Transport Thaworn.

Presumably three places are suggested as potential locations. During the study, which will take nine months, the relevant authorities will also take into account the ideas and wishes of the population.

Phatthalung has no airport and residents therefore have to move to other places. The nearest airports are Trang at 60 km, Nakhon Si Thammarat at 100 km and Hat Yai at 90 km.

They are also busy building an airport in the vicinity of Uttaradit? Need. Do not think so

Everywhere they are concerned with the environment and to reduce aviation, so I think it would be wiser to put that money in a high-speed train.

There are already 3 airports within 100 km, it is incomprehensible that one more has to be added.

Every Thai has its own airport…
    That's democracy.
