EVA Air travelers are allowed in the Star Alliance lounge at Schiphol for a fee

Economy and Premium Economy travelers flying with EVA Air from Amsterdam to Bangkok can now use the Star Alliance lounge at Schiphol for a fee. You can buy a voucher for 50 euros, which allows you to stay in the lounge in Departure Hall 2 for three hours.
Star Alliance already offers this option in the airport lounges of Rome, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, and Amsterdam is now joining them.
Use of the lounge is free for Star Alliance Gold members and for EVA Air passengers with First Class or Business Class tickets. Economy and Premium Economy customers of the alliance are now also welcome, for a fee. KLM has the same construction, although you can enter the Non-Schengen Crown Lounge without a time limit for 65 euros.
The lounge in Amsterdam is used by 14 Star Alliance airlines, including EVA Air. There is room for 150 travelers in the lounge.
You will find lounge 27 after security, on the second floor of Lounge 1, near the D pier. The lounge offers free Wi-Fi, drinks and snacks and is open daily from 05.30:21.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX.
Dear everyone,
I am a technician and travel the world for my employer. Of course I am a gold member of the Star Alliance group. I have already visited many lounges worldwide and there is not much to be found there. You sit comfortably and small snacks and drinks are free. Don't start dreaming about it (is not a 3 *** restaurant) as you will be disappointed for the extra 50 Euros. The lounge is regularly packed and you can queue up until you give up after an hour of waiting.
Think before you want to spend an extra 50 euros.
Greetings,
Eddie ( BE )
Dear namesake Eddie,
Just like you, I, as a Belgian, have also visited many countries (+30) professionally for, more specifically, very specific radio measurements at airports. I also had access to those types of lounges. I completely agree with you: think carefully before you spend your 50 Eu on this, especially as a private traveller.
As far as I know you can enter any lounge in the world for a fee, no matter what you belong to.
They even prefer currency to members
With a stopover of 3 hours or more, or when - due to circumstances, for example a domestic flight - I am more than 3 hours early at the check-in, I would not make a problem of that 50 €. I like to have a (few) drink(s) and a consistent snack during long waiting times, and in many airports you will lose more than 50€ before you know it in the so-called transit or tax-free areas. Of course everyone does what he wants….
Indeed, sometimes it is a wise/understandable choice. Last summer I had 7 hours waiting time in Dubai and I paid around €60 for 4 hours in the non-airline or alliance-bound Marhaba lounge. Some food and drink and a comfortable seat in a quiet environment made it worthwhile in that situation. I could also have paid for the Emirates lounge, but that was well over 100 € ……
Note: This lounge is located in terminal 2, the Schengen terminal for EU flights.
After your stay here, you still have to go through the security portal to get to terminal 3.
The Intercontinental Terminal 3 is where EVA Air departs from.
So keep in mind that you need more time to get to the gate.
Tonight departure with KLM to Bangkok.
You still have to go through passport control, because you have already been through security in Departure Hall 2.
To be able to sit in the KLM lounge for 65 euros for a cup of coffee and a (young) cheese sandwich…. Think that you can really spend your money better after arriving in Thailand. For more than 2000 Thai baht you can really have a royal dinner after arrival.
Comparing apples and pears is the thought that comes to my mind…
To be able to sit in the KLM lounge for 65 euros for a cup of coffee and a (young) cheese sandwich…
Not right, nonsense and mood making. I was there a few days ago. You can eat normally. There is a buffet with all kinds of hot and cold food, fruits and pastries. You can drink as much wine, beer, and other drinks as you want.
If you go to eat somewhere at Schiphol, you also pay almost 20 euros for a sandwich and a cup of coffee. So it's not that crazy.
Peter,
Perhaps that is the case for the lounge in Schiphol, but it is certainly not the case in many other lounges.
I have also seen numerous lounges and in many cases you can get a cup of coffee, tea, fruit juice and a simple snack. If you are still lucky enough to get a seat, you can be lucky.
By the way, Lung Addie says the same above, many lounges are not worth the money.
Many lounges are indeed not worth their money.
However, there are super deluxe lounges where even massages and extensive shower facilities are available. But they are not accessible to everyone and are of course well paid by the customer.
So just making a linear comparison between lounges is pointless.
we flew to bkk with eva air on 1 december, with the 787 boeing dreamliner, now Schiphol handling was 1 big chaos with check-in stood in line for more than 2 hours to check in, had to be present 4 hours before the flight, we were stood more than 50 meters in front of the entrance to check in, which went to the check-in counter
open exactly before the flight, then go to customs same sheet and pack, check passports fairly quickly.
when the plane came in at 2130 yes it became a pity 2200 became 2220 hours then at 2055 hours the sky, now I am 185 cm, the seats are made for short people, there was a gentleman of 209 cm behind me I could out of respect
for this gentleman do not move my chair back for me a gentleman of Chinese manufacture who are
regularly put the chair back, this was not a pleasant seat, the crew did not accept this despite the plea of the man behind me, service with snacks and food while the light was on, drinks were great !!!!!!!! as much as you wanted iron cutlery , plastic cups for drinks no more than half full, when the light was dimmed, different service than I used to at eva, when bkk seemed like all of china india and russia
went on holiday to thailand, we are 75 and were able to quickly get through passport control 70 +,
the suitcases fairly quickly, quickly to the taxi 4000 bath rows of people, in front of the taxi,
when the bus taken 3 hours waiting was good arrived at 2245 in our apartment .in jomtien ,
go again with eva but now with 777. elite classe ,
on the way back bkk 5 planes were in front of the gate,
more than 1 hour for the suitcases and then to customs also 1 hour and then passport control also 1 hour,
right on time for boarding but yes also 30 minutes late, on time at Schiphol, had to wait 1,5 hours for the suitcases yes in the 787/450 people customs at Schiphol toppy.
eva air hire a time planner, a lot goes wrong, yet I remain loyal to you, the crew can do nothing about this.
hello han
Moderator: This has nothing to do with the topic of the posting.
I agree with you about the lack of seating space, and they no longer see me in economy in that 'dreamliner'. More of a nightmare than a dream…
But you are talking about customs on departure, while you do not see them at all on departure in the Netherlands as well as in Thailand. When leaving Bangkok after checking in 2x 1 hour for 'customs' (you probably mean the hand luggage check) and the passport check? As an over-70s you could also have opted for 'Fast Track' on departure: both checks took me no more than five minutes yesterday. Incidentally, there are only 787 seats in that 10-331 from EVA, 'a few less' than the 450 you mention.
The above is intended as a response to han.
