Eurowings, the budget subsidiary of Lufthansa, will fly twice a week from Düsseldorf to Bangkok from the start of the new winter season. This concerns the relocation of long-distance routes from Cologne/Bonn to Düsseldorf Airport.

This Eurowings flight to the capital of Thailand uses an Airbus A330-200 and is operated by SunExpress Deutschland.

After the bankruptcy of airberlin, Eurowings moved several long-haul routes from Cologne/Bonn to Düsseldorf. The longhaul network from that airport is gradually being phased out. The number of aircraft based in Düsseldorf for Eurowings intercontinental routes will thus increase to seven. In total, the airline will have a fleet of forty aircraft in Düsseldorf.

This news is interesting for Dutch visitors to Thailand who live in the East and South of our country. Düsseldorf is easily accessible for them, and the parking rates are also favorable. In addition, Eurowings already offers return tickets to Bangkok from € 400 (without checked baggage, seat selection and a meal). But even if you bring a 23 kg suitcase and choose a meal, you can score a return ticket for a non-stop flight to Thailand for less than € 500. And that is certainly interesting.

It's getting a bit faint that the tickets are getting stripped down more and more. That way there is no longer an easy comparison to make. Every ticket should consist of a minimum that should be offered and that should include hold luggage and a meal on long distances.

Depends how you look at it. There are of course also passengers who want to fly without checked baggage, they would then pay too much.

With a suitcase of 23 kg, meals and this for less than 500 Euro….
I wonder what's left to undress...

The cheapest tickets at Eurowings are without luggage and meal.

Yes, and it says so in the article.

But it also says that with meal and 23 Kg luggage you can book under 500.
Below 5oo and the cheapest ticket are not the same.

Indeed, especially when you consider that a large part of the price consists of airport taxes, etc. That's why there are only a few seats available at that price - but it's still a nice lure

        Well, I know something.
A ticket price based on weight to be transported.
When booking the ticket, the passenger must then indicate the total weight (body + hold luggage + cabin luggage) that will be presented at the check-in counter. The higher the weight, the more expensive the ticket.
Should everyone stand on the scales with their luggage at the check-in desk and pay a hefty extra for every kilogram of excess weight.
Furthermore, when booking the ticket, of course, pay extra for seat selection, legroom, meals, drinks, etc.
Saves fuel, because they can then refuel even more accurately.
Could work out pretty well for me.

Eurowings also offers the possibility to choose from a reasonably wide range of meals. I personally like them better than the standard meals. In addition, the prices are extremely favorable.

    Currently in TH.
    Eurowings LOOKS cheap isn't it.
For the same money you have a flight via Swiss from Dusseldorf or Brussels.
Is my favourite. because of good service. Oh yes, the desk staff in Brussels is only KT
Dusseldorf and Zurich nothing but praise

If you are a frequent flyer, Finnair is a good option. If you book on time, the average price (from NL) is around 550 Euro. FF miles, business class lounges, upgrades and free tickets are well worth the difference in my opinion.
