Ethiad comes with 'Flying nanny' on long flights

A long flight to Thailand, for example, can be quite a challenge for both parents and children. It's not easy to get your kids to sit still for 12 hours.

Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, understands that too. They have come up with a solution for this: the 'Flying nanny'. The nanny keeps the kids busy on long flights. This extra service is also free for all families traveling with young children.

The 'Flying Nanny', recognizable by her bright orange apron, entertains children during long flights. Currently, 300 Ethiad crew members have already followed the extensive training, and by the end of 2013, 500 nannies will have been trained.

The nannies will creatively engage the children on board with crafts, origami, riddles and, at quiet times during the flight, even a tour of the ship.

Then you have a chance that travelers with children will opt en masse for Ethiad…….as a result, singles or those without children no longer choose this airline. Because nothing is more annoying than whining, whining or crying children during a long trip, with or without a nanny. Or am I wrong?

You are absolutely right here Joop! We will never book a flight with a company that has a nanny for a childcare center.

I think that this makes children much calmer during the flight.

Yesterday I had already read this message on Nu.nl and I have posted a response to it, which you do not want to withhold, because I honor the principle that every parent is responsible for the behavior and upbringing of his or her own child, on this people get rid of their responsibility very easily.

“From the BSO via a flying nanny to a supervised toddler pool with 24-hour childcare on the grounds of the All Inclusive resort, at least that way you will no longer be bothered by your children, whom you wanted so badly in the past, even on holiday. because having children is part of it in addition to making a career and busy social life.
Parents of today are parents of nothing.”

    Regards,

    Lex K.

Beautiful. Who better than the flight crew knows how to deal with children, even adults I call them children, in an airplane where you can do nothing for hours on end, then just watch movies, eat or drink something and/or sleep. The parents are also tired and bored, don't know how to behave, if there is a Nanny who can relieve the parents, that's fine. I always travel alone and can only applaud that.
