Thailand's national airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, has risen one place in the global ranking of the best airports and is now ranked 47.

Schiphol Amsterdam Airport drops from 5th to 9th place. As a result, our national airport was again rated less well by international travelers in 2015 than a year earlier.

On the list of Skytrax, a website that researches the quality of airlines and airports, Schiphol dropped from fifth place to ninth place. In 2014, Schiphol dropped out of the top three and was overtaken by the airports of Munich and Hong Kong. Brussels Airport of our southern neighbors is doing very moderately and is in 78th place.

Singapore Changi Airport is again rated best. In second place is Incheon in Seoul and third is Munich.

Skytrax's World Airport Awards are the global benchmark for airports, the independent survey being conducted by the London-based consultancy since 1999.

Don't understand why at all. An unsympathetic, uninviting airport. If you haven't cleared customs yet, you can't have a nice meal anywhere, it stinks of frying oil everywhere.
No cozy pub, only Asian food or stale sandwiches, massage bad and too expensive, shop that is not aimed at the international traveler. Inside, after passport control, it's hardly any better, although the new "expensive" section is a bit neater. It would be nice if there was an international restaurant with a view of the slopes and above all friendly staff….

    My experiences:
Arrived at this airport from Malaysia in January of this year, flew to Laos in February and returned to Bangkok the month later and home (Holland) on March 12th.
Four negative feelings about this airport.
Passport control was always a disaster. Once I had to queue for 40 minutes and luckily there was someone from Lao Airlines (which I flew with) who kept watch over the hold luggage that had been waiting for a long time.

And if one would also include the unfriendliness of the immigration staff, they don't even get into 100.

Passport control upon arrival is always a disaster, long waiting times. Are really civil servants who check things, not smooth and accessible at all. And then you get to the suitcases, your suitcase is already off the conveyor belt, then you have to look for who/what/where. One word KNUDDE.

It is of course what you like with suitcases.
When you land at Schiphol, you will be waiting for your suitcase next to the belt for half an hour.
In recent years, I have found the arrival in Bangkok to be better than expected.
Find a counter with not too old staff and say good morning / afternoon / evening.
Those young employees are a lot more accommodating.
On departure, the lines for immigration are a lot worse.
The airport is actually just built too small.

No real airport architect has been involved in that.
Or too much money has disappeared into deep pockets and the airport suddenly had to become smaller and cheaper.
