AirAsia is considering starting a subsidiary in Myanmar. The popular Asian budget airline is in talks with a local party for this. AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes said this in an interview with Reuters news agency.

Fernandes wants AirAsia to also establish itself in Vietnam and Myanmar so that all major populations in Southeast Asia can use the airline.

Since the arrival of the newly elected government, airlines also see growth opportunities in Myanmar. However, the possibilities in the country are limited because the infrastructure at the airports is inadequate. This will have to be developed further in the long term.

An earlier attempt by the Japanese ANA to set up a collaboration with a local partner failed because the government of Myanmar did not give permission for this.

Sure Myanmar is a diamond in the rough about the same size as Thailand with about the same population.
And the economy and prosperity increases every year just like tourism you would be crazy not to get in now.

The early bird finds the worms. If you have the money and are there on time, there is always something to get. We'll see what's to come.
