Dear editors,

How and where can my spouse in Thailand apply for an exemption from the MVV requirement on medical grounds? She is physically unable to take the compulsory exams. She can demonstrate this with a medical file.

Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Remco

Dear Remco,

You can apply for an exemption by indicating this on the TEV procedure application form.

On the second page of the Civic Integration Exam Abroad appendix, you can indicate under 'exemption' that you wish to apply for this. Of course, read the further explanation on the form regarding appeal for exemption.

You then start the TEV procedure without proof of passing the civic integration exam or the like. The IND assesses whether an exemption is indeed rightly invoked.

Regards,

Rob V
