Dear Ronnie,

I intend to convert my OA visa to O visa. This in connection with not having to comply with compulsory health insurance.

I am a healthy 62 year old man with no health problems. That is why I want to finance everything myself in case of hospitalization. Am I correct in taking the following steps to do so?

Recently obtained another annual extension based on Retirement until September 2020. If I now briefly leave Thailand in August 2020 and then return to Thailand by plane, I will receive a Visa Exemption for 30 days upon arrival at the airport. I can then convert this to a NON-O visa at immigration. On the understanding that there are at least 15 days of stay remaining from the Visa Exemption. I will first receive a stay of up to 90 days. I can then extend these 90 days with a residence period of 1 year based on Retirement Visa.

Is my description above correct?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Regards,

Jan
