Questioner: Jean Marie

I have been married for 33 years and have been living in Thailand for 3 years. Can I get a visa based on a marriage certificate? I receive 1070 euros every month, in Belgium.

Of course that's possible. You must request your annual extension based on Thai Marriage instead of Retirement.

Financially you will

– or have to prove 400 000 Baht in the bank. Must be on for at least 2 months.

– or proof of an income of at least 40 Baht per month.

Given 1070 Euro if income is insufficient (just get around 37000 Baht), you can also prove that you transfer at least 40 Baht to a Thai account every month. Please note that monthly payments must be made around the same date every month.

Read this too. I wrote some time ago how it went for me. Each immigration office has its own rules, but you can use it as a basis.
