Questioner: Rob

Benefits of a retirement visa Non Immigrant O. I renew my annual visa every year, but I am never in Thailand for more than 60 consecutive days. Lately I've been wondering if there are multiple benefits to keeping a retirement visa.

Please look forward to responses.

You can answer that question yourself. You know your personal situation best. How often do you come, is it easier, financial advantages and disadvantages, why do you think you need it, etc…

List the + and – .

And if you come to the conclusion that you don't need that for anything, then you just come as a Tourist with a visa, or with Visa Exemption.

It seems more convenient than always applying for a new visa.
moreover, it gives you a kind of “right of residence” in Thailand.
    Visa rules can easily change.

This is of course also possible with a retirement visa, but probably not in a way in which that “right of residence” expires, because then Thailand suddenly has a large number of people who would have to leave the country
That would probably cause problems with the embassies of various countries.

If you don't need the money you have in the bank for that visa, I'd leave it that way.
