Questioner: Sonja

I have a question for my friend who applied for O immigrant visa. Now I made that payment with a visa card, paid 80 euros. And that visa card is in my name, but with the documents I have added a savings account and pension balance from the last month. Don't you think that's a problem? But here it is, why is the address where the money is going to be Kasikorn bank pcl in Hong Kong?

We also have no response yet whether the visa has been approved. Payment made December 1 and he leaves on December 17. No additional questions were asked, although I also sent an email to Brussels asking if any other necessary documents are needed.

I don't know if I understand it all correctly. Your friend has applied for a Non-immigrant O, but you have provided the financial proof?

It is possible that the payment of the 80 Euro will not be a problem, but it may of course be that this must be in the same name as that of the applicant. So your friend.

In my opinion, it is not possible at all to prove the financial requirements of the Non-immigrant O visa with your savings account and pension balance. It is the applications that must provide these proofs with its finances.

There is a chance that the visa has been refused, but only the embassy can answer that.

You can already check the status of that visa. Look in the Manuel how to do that.

English-Manual.pdf (thaievisa.go.th)

Otherwise you will have to contact the embassy somehow to find out the status of the visa and they can also tell you why that account is with Kasikorn bank pcl Hong Kong.

Perhaps readers can already confirm whether that Kasikorn bank pcl Hong Kong is correct and they also made the payment there.

    It is like this:
The Consular Affairs Department of Thailand cooperates with KBank to provide e-payment service for online visa application.
This service was first available in China in 2019.

Thank you for the answers. In the meantime, answer from Brussels and they ask additional questions, now the last thing they ask is to have a document completed for long stay, so for a visa of 1 year, now an extra insurance has been taken out for half a year because he only stays for so long and not for a year, now if I understand correctly, additional insurance would have to be taken out to AXA and to Touring where it is insured for half a year, but apparently they don't know how to do this again, plus my friend is more than 61 years old, he apparently has to do a medical check, read at Axa, it is hopeless because he leaves on December 17. Thaipass has also been applied for, no response yet, PCR test also a date
Does anyone have advice for this? and is it better if he asks for a visa of 2 or 3 months and changes the date of the return trip?
My boyfriend can't handle a computer and all those papers so everything comes down to me

You don't have much time left.
Soon they may disapprove because the insurance does not cover the visa period.
If this concerns an OA visa, you must provide all kinds of additional supporting documents and insurance.

It may be better to cancel the application and the flight, then first thoroughly study the application and then start again.
Or maybe your friend can learn more about computers and papers.

Wouldn't it be better to switch to applying for a non-O visa instead of a non-O A? You seem to be running out of time….

      • RonnyLatYa says up

Originally applied for and paid for.

        • Cornelis says up

Sonja mentions above in her response about a visa for one year and I concluded from that that it was an OA.

          • RonnyLatYa says up

Her original message states Non-O and that she paid 80 Euros.
The response from the embassy is from that year and is probably because his return date is 6 months later and a Non-O is only good for 90 days. That's why I think OA proposes.
He may have to let it be known that he will extend as I give as an option below.

    The options that remain:
    – inform the embassy that he wants to leave with a Non-O and will apply for a year extension in Thailand. Another extension is not possible. He will not be able to extend by, for example, 3 months because he will only stay for 6 months. He will also have to meet the necessary financial requirements there.
    – notify the embassy that he will then stay for 3 months and adjust the date of return. Can he still do what he wants in Thailand?
    – go for that OA visa, but he will still have to take out an annual insurance policy in addition to those other supporting documents, I fear.
    – Visa exemption is ultimately also a solution, but the return journey will then have to be set to 30 days and later adjusted to the actual return date. In Thailand then change to Non-immigrant and then extend it again. Possibly he will need the necessary help with that and the necessary financial proofs in Thailand will also be required.
How to convert is here https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/8-1.pdf
    – postpone the trip if it does not get everything ready in time

    Thanks for your answers
So the Thaipass came in this morning so that's okay, practice.
Now he has applied for an O immigrant and has insurance cover in English for 6 months , but Visa itself is asking for extra insurance for a long stay ( which I really don't get ) he has a flight back in June , so will stay only 6 months? Have now addressed the insurance company, but they want to do that extra money, but that takes a few days before it is approved.
So what is the best now, can he ask to transfer to 3 months as Ronny says, then he will adjust the flight, I believe that is possible
(notify the embassy that he will then stay for 3 months and adjust the return date. Can he still do what he wants in Thailand)
What a mess, but thanks for your help.

    Good evening
Now it gets even crazier, now I can no longer go to the Evisa site, does anyone have problems?
Even tried on another computer and the same problem there, also tried via firefox ,Edge and google
This page is not available The connection has been reset.
I'm getting a bit hopeless now, and in the weekend they won't read emails either??

    • RonnyLatYa says up

It has been on the website for weeks and you will read it when you open that website that there will be an update on December 10 and 11.
You have to read such messages, at least once, and don't just click away because then you can't know that of course

Embassy in Brussels is already getting rich, Nov 22 applied and also paid 80 €, 29 still received email with question, bank statement and insurance, sent and heard nothing more. So bye bye 80 €.

    • sonja says up

      Bye Ronnie
Now I see that they are doing an update, I had thought about that yesterday that they were going to change something sometime this month, but no connection is scary, now that I see that I am a bit more relaxed, but go compose an email today to ask to convert to 3 months. Because no response from the insurance for renewal, that paper has not been filled in so can no longer wait, 90 days is better than 30 days, or questions as you suggested
      Nice weekend
