Thailand Visa question No. 295/22: Cambodian son to Thailand

Questioner: Jack

My 23 year old Cambodian son wants to fly to Thailand for 1 month. Cambodians normally only get 14 days on arrival. I read in your blog news that temporarily double is given. So 1 month or 28 days is this correct, as of October 1?

Or, after 14 days, can he also do a border run for the next 14 days?

Nowadays you have to travel in person from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh to apply for a visa for 1 or 2 months, show a lot of documents and at least 700 dollars in the bank… hence my question.

Problem here is your son is not coming to Thailand on Visa-on-Arrival. Cambodians are covered by a bilateral agreement.

It is possible that this will also be temporarily brought to 30 days, but cannot confirm that. Normally he should be able to extend those 14 days I think.

A “Borderrun” should normally not be a problem to get back to 14 days.

I don't know there are restrictions on bilateral agreements there.
