Questioner: Rob

If you want to extend your visa after 30 days in Thailand, you can even extend it by 60 days. Are you sure? I want to book a ticket for December 3 and then for 3 months, what do you recommend?

I know nothing for sure it's changed day by day.

I would love to hear from you.

To summarize again.

– A visa exemption of 30 days can be extended once by 30 days

– If you are married to a Thai, you can obtain a one-time extension of 60 days.

That is the standard and what is usually allowed.

– There is currently a 60-day Corona extension, but that measure ends on November 26. Normally it is only intended for those who could not return to their home country due to COVID, but sometimes they are also granted automatically. Then depends on the local IO.

Personally, however, I do not expect that this measure will be extended again, but you never know. You won't know until November 26.

In other words, if you are not married or if the Corona measure is not extended on November 26, you will be able to obtain a maximum extension of 30 days. That is a total of 60 days.

If you want to stay longer in Thailand, you will have to convert the Visa Exemption to a Non-immigrant and there are financial conditions that have already been posted here several times.

That is the situation as it is today.

And as I have said several times, it is always immigration that decides. This applies to any renewal or conversion.
