Thailand Visa Question No. 280/22: Visa Bureau
Questioner: Peter
I'm finally going to my beloved Thailand again in December for 3 months. I do look forward to the front work. Does anyone have good experiences with a visa agency that can do the difficult job of the e-visa for me? Preferably one in or near Amsterdam.
Thank you in advance!
– Do you have a visa question for Ronny? Use it contact form.! -
I have very good experience with Green Wood Travel in Bangkok. From Bederland you can contact us via a Dutch telephone number.
Go to Thailand and get a stamp for 45 days
Take a border run and get 45 days again
Problem solved.
Succes
Dear Rob, That is not correct because with a border run you just get 30 days as before.
Moreover, if his ticket already indicates a stay of 90 days, even if he now suddenly wants to stay together for 75 days, the airline can simply demand proof that he is actually leaving the country after 45 days.
The story that he is going to extend these 45 days in Thailand at an immigration or by means of a border run is not accepted as proof by most airlines.
I would just play it safe and just apply for a visa in the Netherlands for these 3 months.
Currently, the information is such that no distinction was made between entries by air, land or sea.
If the spokesperson for the CCSA says that the temporary extension of the Visa Exemption from 19 to 30 days was approved at the August 45 meeting, this also applies in principle to land entries. Although it will not go into detail, of course, and that may well be.
Nothing has been said about the extension either.
It is therefore best to assume that the extension will remain at 30 days until the contrary is announced.
The last time the Visa Exemption period was temporarily extended from 30 to 45 days was when the country reopened. Then it didn't apply to the extension of a Visa Exemption period as far as I remember. Entry by land was not possible, so we have no comparison there.
Making a decision at the meeting is the first step. It still has to be signed by the PM and appear in the Royal Gazette before it becomes official and we also know its correct content.
Given the situation with the PM, it may take a bit longer for his replacement to sign, but given that this only starts on October 1, I don't think people are worried about that.
Although of course I understand that travelers would like to see this officially confirmed in connection with their planning
Personally, I agree with you that a visa is indeed appropriate for such a period. You are immediately rid of everything and you don't have to worry about anything else. You can extend the Tourist stay period in Thailand and a Non-immigrant O period is already 90 days.
Many are quick to shout that the solution to everything is “border runs”, but often do not start from reality.
Border runs are not free. A movement to and from the border must be made. Not everyone lives close to a border post and for many it will mean a day's journey. The visa from the “borderland” is also quickly forgotten.
Take into account that some people are less mobile and so a day can be tiring for such people.
The whole picture can then look completely different from what someone here quickly writes down as "problem solved", which is rather short-sighted.
Yes, but then you take the risk again, as mentioned so often on this forum, that they will make it difficult to check in on departure. That they want proof that you leave Thailand within 45 days. So it is better to apply for a visa, it is not that difficult.
Visa service in The Hague you can also visit us personally
Helped in the anna palownastraat
I submitted my eVisa application for METV to the Thai Embassy in The Hague last Monday. Received the visa the next day! Very efficiently arranged by the Thai embassy. Special thanks to RonnyLatYa who, in the various correspondences, guided us through the jungle of visa types and the required papers. Peter, if you need any help with the paperwork, just contact me.
