Thailand Visa Question No. 248/21: Visa Exemption and Renewal
Questioner: Cor
Following on from your response to Hugo's question that you, as the married partner of a Thai national, can extend a visa exemption residence permit of 30 days by 60 days due to a visit by your spouse, I wonder whether this is also possible if your partner is actually together registered at the same address?
And if so, is that possible twice in a row so that after a short return flight to say Cambodia (assuming that next year all travel restrictions in both Thailand and Cambodia will be lifted), you actually obtain a residence permit for 6 months without having to apply for a visa?

As long as you are married, you can prove this with a marriage registration and your wife can confirm an address in Thailand where she basically lives, you have a good chance that it will be allowed.
The extension is not based on being married or living together, but on a visit to your Thai wife and/or Thai child in Thailand.
So depends on the IO whether he will allow the 60 days or not. But that applies to everything, including when changing from Tourist to Non-immigrant. Nothing is a right, you only get it if the IO allows it. And so also whether one wants to allow it 2 or more times.
For a 60-day extension you can find the necessary supporting documents here that you will certainly have to submit.
