Thailand Visa question No. 191/21: Which embassy can I go to?

Questioner: Rene

I am B(ID), and officially live in Spain. So I am deregistered in the population register in Belgium. Now that I, as a Belgian, would have to go to Brussels or Madrid for a visa, I would like to know if I can apply for a visa in any Thai embassy?

Embassies have their local regulations when it comes to applying for visas. This also applies to who can apply for those visas.

In general you can say that you can go to any Thai embassy for a Tourist visa Single entry, or even a Non-immigrant O Single entry.

For other and multiple entry visas, it usually applies that one must have the nationality of the country or jurisdiction where that embassy is located, or be officially registered there.

In your case, you should in principle be able to go to Brussels as a Belgian, as well as in Madrid as an official registered in Spain.

Perhaps there are readers who have already applied for a visa in Spain and can share their experience.

I have not applied in Spain myself, but ….
If Rene wants to apply for a Tourist visa Single entry or a Non-immigrant O Single entry, he could do so from September 17 at the Thai embassy in France using the E-Visa system.
The visa can be downloaded two weeks after application.
Saves (a lot of) travel time and costs.

PS: The e-visa system is not available between 23-09 12:00 and 27-09 01:00 due to maintenance.

        Yes Ronnie,

When I read this message I was reminded of the message of September 3.
And because Rene does not specifically refer to this possibility in his question, it seemed opportune to me to draw his attention to this possibility in order to save travel time and costs.
