Questioner: William

I have a question about a visa application. The answer will probably be on the site, but I can no longer see the wood for the trees.
I now have an O visa and want to apply for an annual visa. I can only provide proof that I have deposited at least 2 baht into my Thai account twice.

Can I apply for an income statement at the Austrian consulate in Pattaya? Or does this have to be done at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok? And what other documents do you need? And I read that you also have to provide Covid insurance after June 30, is this correct?

I can't find anything about this on the site of the Thai embassy.

I think there are more people who have this problem so much changes every time.

Thank you in advance.

1. On the website of the Thai embassy you will not find anything about year extensions (only that it is possible), because this is only the competence of immigration and you can only obtain it in Thailand. By the way, it is not a visa that you are going to apply for, but a year extension of your period of stay and that is therefore not an annual visa.

2. Normally, for your first time, those 2 deposits of at least 65 000 Bath will suffice. Basically you are also less than 90 days in Thailand, as it is basically a first entry, and you would not be able to prove more deposits. For follow-up applications, you will have to prove a whole year of monthly payments. Bank letter and bank book you will need as proof. But think that it is always immigration that decides whether this is sufficient.

3. An income statement, if the Austrian Consul still issues one, can only be obtained if you provide sufficient proof of income.

4. Sufficient proof of income is also required for a visa support letter, such as, among others

– pension (annual) overview

– pay slips and/or employer's annual statement

– proof of payment and/or annual statement from the benefits agency

– annual statement from the Tax and Customs Administration

– bank statements from your Dutch current account showing monthly deposits of income (a transfer from a savings account to a current account does not count as income)

You can read it all in this link.

5. Further required is the application form TM7, passport + copy, TM30 copy, TM6 copy, proof of address such as Tabien Baan or rental contract and of course 1900 Baht for the extension. Best to pop into the immigration office. There are usually lists there of what is required.

6. I am currently not aware that you have to present COVID insurance for your annual extension, but everything can change and if you have proof of this you can always let us know. That's how others know.
