Questioner: Theo

My visa “O” Retirement extension indicates Stay Permitted up to July 5, 2022. I fly to the Netherlands on April 20. Do I have to request a re-entry at immigration Sisaket or can this also be done without risks at the airport?

In order to be able to extend in time, what should be the date when I must be back in Thailand at the latest and what date should I apply for a Retirement extension?

What I need will be the same as with my first application, so it is important a statement from the Embassy of your income, passport photo, girlfriend with Blue booklet and, in addition to the passport and the necessary papers, a number of copies. This last time for a fee of 40 Baht were made at the immigration office itself. Always have good and friendly help there.

But my question is if I fly back on June 15, for example, will I get access for 90 days on arrival or only access until July 5, 2022. Can I apply for the extension after July 5 or does it have to be done well before that time?

1. You can request a re-entry at your immigration office, but you can also do so at the airport. The Re-entry desk at the airport is located in the passport control room. Normally it is in the left corner and there is a sign above it with Re-entry. Go there before going to passport control.

2. To extend, you must be at the immigration office before July 5. Waiting until the last day is of course not recommended, but if you are back on June 15, there is plenty of time. Requirements remain the same.

3. When you come back, you will not receive 90 days through that re-entry, but the end date of your still valid annual extension. So July 5. If you are later than July 5th, your re-entry is no longer useful and it has expired.

Then you will receive a maximum of 30 days Visa Exemption and then you have to do the whole process again by first converting your Tourist to Non-immigrant and you can then extend those 90 days by a year.

Or, in case you are too late, you had to buy a new visa right away, of course. If that is a Non-immigrant O then you will receive 90 days which you can then extend again.
