Questioner: French

Thanks for your professional help in your earlier post. Thailand Visa question No. 022/22: 90 days address notification

I got a 1 year stamp at Immigration without any problem based on Retirement until 7/2/2023. Received the stamp immediately without "under consideration". According to the schedule, I will fly back to the Netherlands at the beginning of May for 4-5 months. Before my departure I will make another 90 day notification and apply for a single re-entry stamp.

Question: are the 1 year stamp and re-entry enough for applying for a Thailand Pass (apart from the current Covid requirements) or do I have to apply for a new Non-O visa?

– With a year extension based on Retirement, the “Under consideration” is usually not applied, but there are immigration offices that also apply it for “Retirement”. Is just a local decision.

– Your annual extension determines how long you can now stay in Thailand and a “Re-entry” serves to not lose that annual extension if you leave Thailand. Because of this “Re-entry” you will again obtain the end date of your annual extension the next time you enter. In other words, you do not need to apply for a new visa because you still have a valid period of stay, if you come back before 7/2/23.

– A Thailand Pass is a COVID measure. It only says which COVID requirements you currently have to meet and which conditions there are to travel to or enter Thailand. It says nothing about how long you can stay in Thailand upon entry. Only a visa, Visa Exemption or a previously obtained residence period (with -e-entry) will determine that and they are therefore separate from the Thailand Pass.
