Questioner: Arthur
Subject: Health insurance

In June 2019, I had my Non O visa, obtained in Belgium, extended in Thailand with an annual visa based on retirement. Do I now have to present proof of health insurance when renewing my annual visa (in June)? I have both hospitalization and travel insurance in Belgium. By the way, I had to appeal to my travel insurance in the past for hospitalization in Thailand.

If so, is my Belgian policy sufficient and which document should I request from my insurance company?

Thanks in advance.

Health insurance is not mandatory with a Non-immigrant O visa and when extending a period of stay obtained with a Non-immigrant O visa.
