Questioner: Maxime

Recently entered Thailand with an e-visa Non Immigrant – O at Bangkok airport via the fast lane (17+) on March 70. They ask for the boarding pass, passport and a printout of the e-visa. It took a while but everything was found to be in order.

However, after a few days I inspected my passport and saw that the date of entry stamp is missing. I have now arrived in Hua Hin. The question is, has the immigration officer forgotten that, or is this a new procedure with such an e-visa?

Of course I will also check with immigration in Hua Hin.

That is, as far as I know, not a new procedure with an e-visa at all.

I do know of a wrong date as a stamp, but this is really very rare: NO STAMP. It is an error or omission on the part of the Immigration Officer.

It is best to report to the Immigration Office in Hua Hin as soon as possible and ask if they can rectify this because officially, according to your passport, you have not entered Thailand legally. That would mean that if you were to get a check anywhere, they could consider it that you entered Thailand illegally and, well, explain it. Possibly, and I assume you are, you must be registered in the immigration database at the airport. Do they have access to this database in Hua Hin?

In any case, take your plane ticket and boarding pass with you to the immigration office, that's the only proof you have.

I hope for your sake that they (can/will) rectify it in Hua Hin and don't send you back to Bangkok to have it done there, with the message: 'they made the mistake there and have to correct it themselves. Or: “you should check your stamp”.

By the way, I always do that: check the stamp on my annual renewal before I leave the immigration office.

To miss is human.
