From Wednesday 15 September, the Belgian Embassy will switch to another service provider: TLScontact. From then on, this company will receive applications for a Schengen visa on behalf of the Belgian embassy in Bangkok.

This external service provider has been doing business with the French and Portuguese embassies for several years and therefore already has the necessary experience in this field.

The address of TLS contact is:

A small reduction in cost

The costs of a visa itself remain the same, of course, but the services of TLS itself have a slightly different price tag: TLS levies 780 THB in service costs. Payments can be made via internet banking (Mobile Online Payment) or - for 100 THB extra - by debit/credit card. Optional extra services are: return of the passport by courier (205 THB), premium lounge for extra service (1755 THB), and Prime Time Weekend for applications on Saturday (1755 THB).

For comparison, currently applying through VFS costs THB 1.050 in service fees, and returning the passport by courier costs THB 220.

Until September 14, you still have to visit VFS Global to submit an application. You can then visit VFS until October 14 to receive the passport, after which it will be handed over to the Belgian embassy.

File update

At a later time, when the new procedure is well under way, I will of course also adjust the Schengen file here on Thailandblog. Feedback from the field is of course very welcome, experiences can be submitted via the Contact form. After all, it remains to be seen how changes will work out in practice.

NB: of course, applications for the Netherlands simply go through VFS Global.
