Questioner: Lenaerts

Visa application Brussels. I read and heard that I am not the only one who has to wait a long time for his O visa. Last year I had this the day after. Now I've been waiting for 8 weeks and I'm leaving in a week. My account keeps saying "processing" and when I send an email there is no response.

They let me know once by email: documents okay.

Do readers also have problems with this visa application? Given up hope, or what can I do?

Reaction RonnyLatYa

I know that the embassy issues visas late to keep the validity period as long as possible. Applying early does not make much sense as your application will be processed later and is therefore not urgent.

However, I hear that most of them receive their visas on time.

But there are also those who ask the same question as you and have not yet received a visa shortly before their departure. I sometimes recommend using the other email addresses as well. That's all I can do about it.

But does that work or not? Sometimes I get a response that it is good luck to use a different email address, but the majority never hear from me again, so I don't know whether they received it in time or not.

If they would make the effort to let me know, I might be able to help you now.

Hopefully some will still take the time to respond about how they fared, what they did and whether they received it on time or not.

    Hey
I had to wait 9 weeks. When it finally arrived in my email, my name was mixed up, of course not their fault because they said I didn't write my name correctly... That was 5 days before departure. I then had to request a new one and it arrived 3 days later, so 2 days before take-off. Yours will be fine too. Brussels unfortunately has one of the worst and most expensive embassies in Europe

Last year, here in the Netherlands, I was busy for a very long time.
The problem was, I used Google.
Thanks to a tip, I used Microsoft Edge and everything worked like magic, great!
So I used Edge again this year and completed and sent everything in a short time.
A few days later my visa.
My advice, seek help and don't give up too quickly or just like that.
    Good luck6!!
    Mike

He says “They let me know by email once: documents were okay”
That won't be the problem then.

The photo of the passport must be really clear, you will always receive the text of what they can read on the passport during the upload. If there is an error, take a new clear photo, I also had to do it again a few times last year. No problem this year. You will only continue if your details are correct, you can still change everything at any time. Sending incorrect data also causes errors on the visa, always check yourself. Now applied for non-immigrant O on September 9, and some more information was sent by email on September 18. On 09/25 a pension certificate was requested (which is new for this year). I had sent bank details but I did not need them. Yesterday, Sunday 09/01, I received my visa (approved) by email, printed it out and I am ready for departure on 10/24.

“They let me know by email once: documents were okay,” he says, so that's not the problem

    Best ,
This is normal a few days before departure, so don't panic. I also received this 5 days before departure, and email is indeed not answered, maybe try calling, but I succeeded.

    Dear RonnyLatYa

I created a completely new email address for my visa application.
Instead of hotmail, switched to gmail. Everything went well and I had my visa in 22 days.
My departure date is October 24, so well in advance.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, I read somewhere in an information notice from the Thai embassy that they recommend using gmail.
I was also a bit suspicious of Gmail at first, as I have had Hotmail for years. But I have taken the step to switch and have to honestly admit that it is not too bad. But lately there has been almost no support for slightly older laptops. That is why it may cause problems for some with the visa application.
Sometimes a person has to dare to be open to change.
I can say one thing with certainty; My laptop hasn't exploded yet. Hahaha.

It is quite possible that using a different email address can be an improvement in some cases.
Those who experience problems with the application can always try.

I don't know if people recommend Gmail somewhere, although I don't think it makes much difference. There are so many email addresses someone could use outside of Gmail.
What is recommended are certain browsers and that might make a difference when applying.
      https://thaievisa.go.th/static/Recommended-Browsers.pdf

But in this case we also don't know which email was used, or which browser.
Moreover, he also writes that last year he had his visa the day after. If that was also the case with his hotmail, then that is a lot faster than you with your gmail.
Moreover, he had already received a response from the embassy to his email because he wrote: “They let me know by email once: documents were okay.”
So the problem in this case is certainly not the email address or even the browser

I just don't think it has been signed yet for whatever reason, but it is certainly not pleasant when your departure is approaching and people wait so long for you. All this causes unnecessary stress for the traveler that could easily be avoided

    The Best
    My thanks for the response.
    Finally got my visa 0
After 8 weeks. 3 days before departure
Which browser or hotmail or gmail you
Uses remain the same. Their message
Always ends up. I have gmail and
    Hotmail linked

I also read that there are people
The one with the visa application
The site stated that the passport was not readable
    Not a problem anyway.
Below this you can do everything manually
    Filling in .is also accepted.
I now finally have my visa
    Obtained by completing manually
    Thanks again Ronnie

I think I'm relieved, but it is actually understandable that people start to worry if they have not received anything a few days before their departure.

But as I said, applying early is also pointless.
The fact that the embassy waits as long as possible to issue your visa is actually for your own benefit. This is especially important for Multiple Entry Visas.
Suppose they write it out immediately, you would already have lost 2 months of the validity period. Perhaps not immediately important for a Single entry, but it could be for a Multiple entry if you want to enter with that visa later. Can make a difference.

      Have fun
