Get a taxi quickly and safely with the GrabTaxi App in Bangkok
A new Taxi App promises a safe and transparent way of taxi transport in Bangkok.
The app is free to download and is available in both Thai and English for Android, iOS and Windows smartphones. Passengers can rest assured that all GrabTaxi drivers use the meter. In addition, they have been carefully screened and trained to transport passengers in a safe, fair and comfortable manner.
How does the Taxi app work?
Once the passengers order a taxi with their smartphone, the app will show the available taxis in the area and estimate the fare. Passengers will then be paired with a driver. Within a minute they will see the name, photo, telephone number and license plate of the taxi driver on their smartphone.
Passengers can also see where the driver is and track in real time how many minutes it takes for the taxi to reach them.
To further ensure safety, the app has a unique “share my ride” function. This allows family or friends to follow the ride via GPS. They also receive the trip details as well as information about the taxi driver. all this via a link (social media), SMS or e-mail.
GrabTaxi was launched earlier (June 2012) in Malaysia and was a great success there. Now it is the turn of other countries in the region, such as the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
