Millionth visitor on Thailandblog!
The time has come, today Thailandblog has passed the magical limit of 1 million visitors.
Thailandblog.nl started at the end of 2009 with tourism information, news, opinion, and backgrounds about Thailand. The blog quickly experienced enormous growth. From the start, all social media channels, such as Twitter and Facebook, have been used to bring Thailandblog.nl to the attention.
New articles appear on the blog every day. The social media aspect is also reflected in the articles that appear on the blog. Visitors can send content that will be posted after approval. The blog is also dedicated to sharing information about Thailand.
Meanwhile, 42 different authors have written one or more articles. The bloggers include expats, retirees and tourists. But (former) journalists also write for Thailandblog.nl. The success of the blog is also evident from the more than 12.000 comments on the articles. This means that each posting generates an average of nine responses from visitors.
The growth in visitor numbers is still increasing steadily. With more than 1.500 unique visitors per day, Thailandblog.nl can call itself the largest Thailand community in the Netherlands.
Facts and figures about Thailandblog.nl
More than 1.400 articles have been posted on Thailandblog.nl. Most traffic, over 37%, comes via Google organic. The mailing list accounts for 29% of the visit and direct traffic amounts to 16%. Enjoy reading it daily. A wealth of information is presented here. It is a source of knowledge, useful references and entertainment. You can learn a lot here. Great work.
Congratulations Peter and other editors! I also read almost all the articles you post every day, as well as the reactions of the readers! This way I stay informed about everything that has to do with Thailand. I do that both from NL, but also from Thailand where I was only 3 months ago. What a privilege for us readers, that you exist and put so much energy into it! Thank you.
I wish you good luck and also the strength to be able to deal with this enormous time-consuming job and to persevere!
If you ever need help with anything, please place an appeal on this wonderful blog.
I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who contributed to this wonderful result for the useful information, the beautiful stories and the emotional vicissitudes you will find on this blog. To all: please keep it up.
Congratulations to the editors, for all those beautiful and useful stories, but I also want to thank the people who respond, and sometimes add to the written article,
and the people who then respond to it, so the blog remains instructive and interesting, not only for holidaymakers, but also for those living here in Thailand,
Keep it up, and on to the 2 million
Congratulations and thanks for all the useful info and interesting articles and videos
I would like to agree with the previous comments: congratulations!!
Also congratulations. I really don't feel the need to start my own blog, as Kuhn Peter advised me three times already. The reason for it is unknown to me. My contributions are not very different from what I read from other bloggers and my contributions were always published, for which I thank you. So apparently I do follow the rules.
This blog is fine, I would say.
@ Niek, the advice had to do with your preference to start discussions about politics. But you know that 😉 Just to be clear. Despite the active participation of expats, thanks for that, Thailandblog is not an explicit expat blog. Everyone, including tourists and others, should be able to find something to their liking here.
congratulations Peter,
And….. it is not without reason, your blog is really very good !

Congratulations on this great result, I hope to continue to follow you for a long time, it is precisely that mix of expat and tourist mix of bloggers and commenters that makes this such an interesting blog, otherwise it quickly becomes one-way traffic, so keep it up! 😉
“mix of expats and tourists among the bloggers and commenters” should be natural (an edit button would help) 😉
Congratulations Peter, and thank you for the fun and sometimes very instructive articles.
Because despite the fact that I have been living in Thailand for over 7 years, I still learn new things about Thailand thanks to the blog.
Congratulations Peter
I think it's great keep it up.
Greetings Berry
Congratulations.
I hope to read it for a long time
Congratulations on this milestone. It says something about the interest of the reader and the quality of the written pieces.
For those (like me) who (still) live in the Netherlands, the blog has a daily connection with beloved Thailand and this blog brings Thailand closer emotionally for the enthusiast.
I and many with me (I'm sure) hoping that Thailandblog will exist for years to come and thus can provide a variety of information and continue to give an impression of the ins and outs of this beautiful country with its fantastic people and perhaps it is not always perfectly the real enthusiast accepts this.
