Three months ago we were proud to announce that the long awaited booklet The Best of Thailand Blog rolled off the presses. Orders from the Netherlands and Belgium immediately poured in. In Thailand, sales started a little later, after people from Thailand had taken the booklet with them in their luggage.

Sales have now come to a standstill. That can mean one of two things: everyone already owns the booklet or the saying 'Put off until tomorrow what you could have done today' applies. If the latter is the case, we advise these people: Let tomorrow be today. Order the booklet before we sell out.

Thailand

In Thailand, 85 copies of the 79 booklets were sold. One copy is reserved, so there are 5 left. Most of the booklets were sold by Dick Koger in Pattaya: 24. Dick must have been a stand worker in his previous life, there is no other way.

The sale during the presentation in the residence of the embassy in Bangkok was not disappointing either. Then 17 copies went over the counter.

And then there was the Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, which purchased 5 copies. See, that's nice.

Netherlands, Belgium and Germany

In the Netherlands and its neighboring countries (yes, there were also orders from Germany), orders poured in after the first announcement. In the beginning with dozens a day, then it became dozens a week.

But from early October, sales plummeted. The last shipment was October 14. By then, 229 copies of our own little red book had gone out from the Netherlands. It could have been more, but not every order resulted in a purchase. And your treasurer works from the principle: No money, no Swiss.

4 more copies await a curious reader. Don't worry though, you can still order as much as you want. If the stock has dropped to zero, we simply order more.

For the fans of statistics: 2 booklets were sent to Germany, 22 booklets to Belgium and 205 copies were distributed in the Netherlands.

Sale continues

We will not stop selling for the time being. December approaches with Sinterklaas and Christmas, two occasions when people give each other presents. If you still have no idea what you could give this year, click on the order ad in the left column of the blog and place your order.

The booklet will be sent by return after payment - while stocks last. If additional orders must be placed first, the shipment will take a little longer. The delivery time for a repeat order is approximately one week.

Perhaps also an idea for companies that do business in or with Thailand. Is there still a spot available in the Christmas package? Let us know and we'll fill the gap.

We also hope that a tour operator who organizes trips to Thailand will be interested in a special edition that will be given as a gift to Thailand visitors. We are working on it, but whether it will succeed, we dare not say. Fingers crossed.

As they say in the market: Who will untie me? I don't have to say that anymore because Chris de Boer bought the last 5 booklets (Bangkok). If necessary, we can always have a fresh stock come from the Netherlands. Some blog readers, who regularly travel back and forth, have already offered to take booklets with them in their luggage. So you can still order in Thailand.

    Dear Dick,
I think it's a good idea if you occasionally point out to your readers after the translation of Bkk-Post that a booklet has been released.. the best of Thailandblog.

I also forgot it again and will sooner or later want to pick it up from you in Bkk..nice!
I think you can sell a lot of it if you keep reminding people… don't let it get forgotten that would be a real shame.
thanks for your nice translation.. Danny

@ Danny Good suggestion. I'll do that. Repetition is the power of advertising.
