Honeymoons to Thailand

Recently, the Thai tourist agency, TAT, under the leadership of Juthaporn Rerngronasa, has been trying to develop a number of activities to attract more tourists to Thailand.

One measure was to offer Thai tourists a large discount on hotel stays. Another notable action, which was also featured on the blog, was to encourage couples with relationship problems to travel to Thailand. Once in beautiful Thailand, romance would blossom again

Now Juthaporn is trying to put Thailand on the map of Rerngronasa as a world-class destination for weddings and honeymoons. The focus here is more on the more luxurious upper segment of the tourist base. This year the TAT was represented for the second time at the Wedding Planners Congress on 14 and 15 April in Mauritius.

Last year, this formula proved to be successful with tourists from America, England, the Arab Emirates, India and China. The TAT recognizes the importance of honeymoons as an additional source of income for tourism and therefore the Thai economy. Thailand is therefore a popular honeymoon destination. The paradise island of Koh Samui is particularly popular. It is one of the 10 romantic destinations in the world next to cities like Paris and Venice.

The number of honeymoons from India is remarkable. This relatively new (honeymoon) market has an estimated turnover of almost 3% of the total tourism industry.

It is of course a good plan. Which has a much greater chance of success if the baht devalued considerably: Thailand travel is expensive at the moment.
Incidentally, behavior such as in the photo with the article is definitely NOT appreciated in Thailand. People behave much more morally in public.
