- Rudolf: Who are those people who ride the HSL to Shanghai? That's the rich elite. What is the benefit to ordinary Thais of this very expensive project?

It was a pleasant crowd at the opening of the exhibition of the Dutch painter Guido Hillebrand Goedheer in the Siam City Hotel in Bangkok.
The official opening act was performed on Thursday evening by the Dutch ambassador in Thailand (Laos,
Cambodia and Burma), HE Tjaco van den Hout. He brought along his charming wife and in his speech recalled the importance of art in shaping world history.
In addition to many Thai guests and sponsors, the opening was attended by a handful of Dutch art enthusiasts. Until mid-April, several dozen works by Guido Goedheer, known for his 'post-Cobra style', will hang in the lobby of the Siam City Hotel.
Part of the proceeds is intended for charity: children in deprived areas in Bangkok. After the opening, the attendees feasted on an extensive buffet. (photos Hans Bos)

Hello Guido, we enjoyed meeting you on the flight Bangkok-Amsterdam.
The information you shared with us about Thailand was very enlightening about what is happening in Bangkok.
Kind regards, Nico and Joke Zwinkels
