The floating market of Damnoen Saduak west of Bangkok is one of the most popular field trips in Thailand.

Daily buses with tourists depart from Bangkok to visit this village on the water. The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำ ดำเนินสะดวก) offers visitors a spectacle of hundreds of fruit and vegetable vendors plying their boats through the canals from early morning to noon.

Damnoens Saduak is originally the name of the canal dug during the reign of King Rama IV. He had this canal dug to connect the Taachin River and the Maklong River.

Most hotels and booking offices in Bangkok can arrange an excursion to the Floating Market for you. It is also possible to visit the market on your own. The earliest bus departs at 6.00:2,5 AM from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok. You will travel to Damnoen Saduak in about 6.00 hours, so you will be there well before the tour groups arrive. If you want to visit the market at XNUMX:XNUMX in the morning, there is no other option than to spend the night in Damnoen Saduak.
